I have looked over many different choices of layouts for headers. but what works and sounds the best for a 2.5in dual exhaust???

i have seen just about every layout. the half and half 123/456

and then some do cross overs 124/356, 126/345, 146/235, ect.....

i think you get the point. are there any experts here? what would the benefits of one or the other be..... or am i just worried about nothing....

thanks for the help!

You would want to do it one of two ways:

1. Alternate based on the firing order: 6 into 2 with 123 - 456.

2. Combine based on firing order: 6 into 2 with 153 - 624.

I don't know which is better for performance but my guess would be the first.

why not take the 2 simultaneously firing cylinders and group them into a 6-2-1 setup. it's easier to do on an L6 than it is on a v8, so you may benefit from grouping whichever cylinders fire together and have them meet so they dampen eachother out in a larger twin-collector before meeting in a tri-y connector.
