This isn't mine,

but this guys Z is AMAZING.

The custom work that has gone into this is staggering.

Well thought out and well executed. :icon14:

Inspirational to see others out there still believe a custom car is more than

a paint job, a set of tacky rims, rattle can exhaust tip, and a gaudy wing.:icon13:

Or opening up a catalog and pulling out the credit card.:icon13:

And, makes me miss my tools, compressor, and welder

that I sold to re-locate even more...

I feel embarassed to even have my car on cardomain website after looking at this guys work. Unbelivable, especially the trick exhaust flanges that he fabricated up. The window and roof mods look really really good, it totally changes the look of the car.

This guy is giving Blue Oval Z a run for his money for fabricating skills!! Think what these two could cook up together...

Count me in on that handful.

You are right, that exhaust collector IS beautiful work.

I would love to chop the top @ 3-4 inches, myself.

I halfway mapped it out in my head already when I bought the car.

Still might,

if I ever again get to the point I can replace my sunroof-cursed roof, myself.

I've been following this build for the last 2 or 3 years. He is one of only a handful of people crazy enough to chop the top on an S30. The LS7 doesn't hurt either.

where can i find the other crazy people who chopped the top?

That's all I've ever seen personally, just you three.

I can't really count myself, but I've just chopped the top on my 240Z 3D model. I'll post a render or two when it's presentable.

Yikes! Another zcar dead at the hand of the torch. Wouldn't a tube frame and fiberglass have served better?

...I wonder how much you can pick up one of those awesome flared out 240z sorta-scarab clones with super-cool custom brown/yellow/tan striped paint and wings that were so popular in the '70s for these days -- oh wait, they've all been crushed...

Whoops, sorry... *stodgy old guy*...

Z car dead at the hands of a torch? Only dead if the project is given up on.

Would you say "Another dead '61 Galaxie at the hands of a torch" to Troy Trepanier?

All Starliners MUST be 120 percent restored, down to restoring the assembly line Grease marks?

Or maybe all of our Z's should look like we all opened the same catalogs, and whipped out our Credit Card?

Like 95% of them do, anyways?

My build is fairly radical, but honest, low buck hot rodding. Very much true to what REAL hot rodding WAS ORIGINALLY, when it didn't involve a $5,000+ order through S^MMIT or J#g"s, or a set of Strombergs going for 1500 bucks+. Or opening a M$A catalog, for that matter. I think quite possibly the only 100% new parts I will have bought will be in the engine overhaul bits and MAYBE tires.

Sorry to ramble, but these guys are putting a LOT of love and investment that SCARES the SNOT out of MOST Folk. AND, I'm JEALOUS I can't do the same, myself, investing more time, love and thought, than arbitrarily throwing huge gobs of money a catalog or fill-in-a-blank-here tells you that you need to spend. THAT'S RESPECTABLE, and I Frigging SALUTE 'em for the efforts.

BTW. Some of the famous radical Z's are still around,

just in hiding.

On certain California one is here, and very much alive.

This is HybridZ. Alteration/modification is the cornerstone of this forum.

If originality is your salivation, you got off at the wrong bus stop.

AMEN, Brother, AMEN!
