kcambron
I'm putting poly bushings in my mustache bar, will I need to use the original top and bottom bushings also? The ones I am talking about have small v shaped ridges on them. Kevin
ozzinc
no not if you are using the aftermarket set of poly bushings, they come with everything you need to install them on your mustache bar including 4 large washers in replacement of the v shaped ridge top and bottom washers. dschock
What is the best way to remove the old bushings? Blowtorch, hacksaw?
kcambron
There's a several ways that work ok, I used a high speed air drill with a 1/8" drill bit and made a series of holes around the edge of the rubber and then knocked it out with a few light blows of a hammer. The small amount of rubber that was left was cleaned up with a high speed rotary tool. I thought it was cleaner than burning them out. Derek
I saw this on another site and it worked like a charm. Use a coping saw. Drill a 1/4" hole through the rubber. Pass the saw blade through the rubber and attach to saw. Saw out the rubber letting the blade wipe against the outer steel bushing. It was really simple and I was using some cheap harbor freight blades I had laying around! Derek
FlatBlack
You can also heat up the outside of the metal with a torch, and after a while the rubber will get soft and you can knock it out with a hammer.
