josh817
Dad and I are having an open house at his shop on June 13th. Anyone is invited, bring your cars, etc. Basically it will be a breakfast get together at the shop, check out the cool cars, that sort of thing. You may be overwhelmed with British cars so if you hate them, be prepared. The shop location is: 2136 Corzine Dalworthington Gardens, Texas 76013 Corzine connects Pioneer and Arkansas together and sits behind a Walmart I do believe. The entire road is lined with shops so once you get onto it go slow and look for a blue Z and some British cars. I'll get a time of day soon. PS: I need to brag to someone. I waited 5 months for this thing to be complete. I'm sorry if I'm being a butthole but seriously dudes, if you own a ceramic coating shop and you have work backed up for half a year, hire some more people or work faster. Luckily I wasn't dependent on these headers so I could still drive while he took his dearest time. At least they look sexy, minus the nasty cutoff ends and the air injection. big-phil
man if my car is out of the painter I would love to come out.
josh817
You don't even need to show up with your car, its just preferred to put the British cars back in their place. Some of the TR6 guys are running triple Strombergs and think they're hot ****. XD
SuperPickle
If only I knew I had a HybridZer shop right there! Right now my 280z's in a shop on the corner of 360 and Green Oaks not ten minutes away!
Chris240zTurbo
I'll mark that on the calender, I dig brit stuff, heck I even drove a Triumph Spitfire once! Josh, next time you need some ceramic coating done, check with Automotive Machine and Supply in Ft. Worth, they did all the coatings on my engine, very nice stuff with quick turn around, they farm it out to Jet Hot I believe, but they do a lot of business with them, so they get pretty quick turn around. josh817
Is the guys name Mike? This dude was Mike and he's real good with everything IF you have time to spare. My 6-1 header was $185 for the coating and polish and this one was $195 so its good, because I wasn't dependent on it. Edit: Scratch that, its easier to say that the dude we use is in Arlington, right off of Collins I believe kinda near UTA. The machinist was use is Rick and that company sounds familiar. I forget the name of the guy who cleans and bores our blocks but he doesn't do coatings anyway.
Chris240zTurbo
Nope, talk to Eric or Steve at http://www.automotivemachine.com/ tell 'em Chris with the turbo 240Z sent ya, they know me. And my credit card number LOL
josh817
Ah wait! I think I got names mixed up! Rick is our engine block guy, Eric is the machinist. I'm going to be sending him my pully to weld on a trigger wheel I do believe.
josh817
PS: The open house starts at 9 AM and the breakfast is being provided over at the shop. Dad invites any scary Z cars such as BigPhils and Chris's so we can wag our tails at the Triumph guys. He told me he expects to see my car FINALLY painted and put back together by then too. Schools out tomorrow for summer, its time to get back on that horse damnit.
josh817
Anyone coming out this Saturday, if you are taking the Rosedale exit from 820 FOLLOW THE SPEED LIMIT AND DON'T DRIVE LIKE AN IDIOT WHEN YOU GET ONTO ROSEDALE. There are 2 tiny cities that fall on that road and because they are tiny, they write lots of tickets. So be safe, make sure you have all your insurance and driving info, and make sure everything is registered because they WILL fall in behind YOU and run your plates if they see you. Dalworthington Gardens and Pantego are the cities by the way. They're literally 2 square miles I think.
SuperPickle
Makes me glad I'm coming by rte
josh817
The shop itself is in Dalworthington Gardens, so still be careful. To give an example, I was out late (12-1am) sanding my hood in the parking lot so dust wouldn't get on the cars and I had 3 police officers stop in the parking lot and ask what I was up to. Atleast its safe though!
smoorhs02
I can vouche for Josh's concerns about doing everything RIGHT on the drive... DWG Police Suck!!! Many a times Ive been pulled over for stupid things, or friends have. Things like too many fog lights for the street(2 werent even on and my friend hadnt taken them off when he put the new ones on). Randomly getting stopped for ABSOLUTELY NO reason...stupid small town cops trying to make their quota!!! GRRR Anywayz...be safe!
SuperPickle
This thing had better be bitchin'! I just turned down a VIP trip to SoCal this weekend.
josh817
Oh geez I hope you aren't like "this sucks you ruined my day" Dad said everyone in the Triumph club meeting told him they would be there. We already have all the food, lots of fruits, sweet bread, tamales, other mexican stuff since my step mom is mexican and she just HAD to force mexican food onto an otherwise British and Japanese gathering. Haha Oh and if the worst occurs, my car will be ready and drivable, but open header... It'll be cool for about the first 5 minutes of the 45 minute drive there. Hopefully DWG and Pantego police don't destroy me. The car HATES being driven under 2500 RPM so its like... we'll see what happens if I can't make it to the exhaust shop on Friday. Flexicoker
Cool, I'm going to try and make it. Its pretty close to my house!
SuperPickle
Well, one of the bolts in my header fell off(!) between the '4' and '2' part of my 4-2-1, so we can be open header buddies! ...And yes, I will blame you if my day sucks!
josh817
You know how tempted I'm going to be to go nutso... Yah, its going to be bad. I'm going to push REALLY hard to make it to the exhaust shop. I have the pipe and the different headers, I just need them to be joined together. However, we had a transformer flip ♥♥♥♥ in the backyard last night from all those storms. From 7pm-1am we were powerless. Everytime they switched the power on, the transformer would freak out spit sparks and flames. >_< So now I'm a day behind! The car isn't painted and in pieces BUT I will paint it and put it together on Friday. Nothing screams ballzy more than open headers and fresh paint. Knowing my luck, a truck will throw rocks up on 820...
josh817
Today is the day guys. Take your time please. I'm putting my car together as we speak. In case you didn't think you could go from no paint to painted and running in 2 days. You're wrong. >_< I am on hour 27, thats with drying times.
