JMortensen
I would fix them. I had rust (although not that bad) in the same spots. I cut a large section out and welded in some sheet metal. The tough part is where the metal is folded over on the edge. You pretty much have to just keep cutting until you get rid of the rust, then make yourself a panel. I think Tabco might have patch panels for that part of the car, but I just used flat sheet because there isn't much going on there and it's pretty easy to bend it to fit. Turbo7MN
Definitely fixable, to do it properly you will need to un-hem the seam make the proper patch, metal finish, and re-hem it. If you need to learn about metal shaping this site is the best. http://www.metalmeet.com/
jgautosport
Ive got some tabco panels i just got but im going to get new fenders instead since i messed up on shaving my marker lights. theres about 2" missing from the top panel since i welded them on. They have the same curve and body line " under the datsun or 280z emblem would go" I paid 47 a panel plus shipping I d let them go for 50$ for both shipped if interested. *There is trimming of the panel required since its a stamped patch not a replacemant part. Example(metal is too long on the very bottom)
AK-Z
Just cut out the portion with a dremel with a cutoff wheel leaving the sides in tacked . then grab some card board and cut a piece that matches the hole, and use that to cut and bend a new piece for some scrap sheet metal and weld it in.
