AkumaNoZeta
I was told that putting a little ATF in the fuel tank will clean out injectors better then injector cleaners. What do you all think about this?
sweetleaf
I say use seafoam. Yeah , ATF is an old trick but can/will eat and swell some seals. Was mostly dumped down carbs, back in the day. Or just use K1 Kerosene.
johnc
So, ATF will work better the something designed for cleaning fuel injectors? Stop listening to old farts who reminisce about how well their '37 Dodge ran.

Stop listening to old farts who reminisce about how well their '37 Dodge ran. *snickers* Ive heard the same trick.... but you dump some ATF in your diesel truck and you're supposed to make a little more power. ATF burns hotter than diesel... makes your pyro's go way up. Good way to ruin a turbo too, also heard this one from an old timer, lol. AkumaNoZeta
Well, I heard about it then I searched here and found nothing. Searched yahoo and only found forums about others supporting it. So I decided to ask here because I couldn't really come up with my own opinion.
John Scott
Don't forget mothballs in the gas tank trick, magnets on the fuel lines, swirly spinners on your intake. Up to 750 hp with 85 mpg increase!
AkumaNoZeta
Really? I could use 85 MPG on my road trips. But I don't fall for those ones. I just thought the ATF could be plausible because of the detergents they have in them and how clean the inside of transmissions are when you take them apart. John Scott
Sorry, I think the atf probably has some merit, just being sarcastic. I've used it in the intake to free up some stuck rings, years back. Also heard it helps seat some rings in unique situations, synthetic oil etc. In the meantime I'm taping on a few more magnets, and regarding mothballs, they're getting harder to catch.
