Drax240z Posted August 5, 2009 Share Posted August 5, 2009 Anyone have some suggestions? I want to add the 3rd brake light to my 240z, and I'd like just a narrow strip (1/2" max) about 6" long or so. Either going to put it inside at the top of the hatch glass, or in my rear spoiler. Looking for something robust, off the shelf (new) and reasonably priced... VERY bright. It's about 1/4" wide and 1/8" high half-round silicone strip with very bright SMD's encased into it. When it's off, it looks like a black strip. I plan on sticking it to the top inside edge of the rear window molding. In between the connectors for the defroster wires. These are the white versions on my headlight trim. Six_Shooter Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 If you're into going to the wrecking yard, look at Chevy Astro vans. They have an LED bar that attaches to the roof. You could likely mount this to the underside of your spoiler or even on the roof. I have a couple that I plan to take a part and mount the LEDs in a custom bar to blend more with the exterior of the car, I don't have a spoiler. It molds into the Z lines nicely, although might be a bit thicker and wider then what you're looking for. I can take exact measurements if you'd like.
