S30TRBO
Did anyone see this Horsepower TV Episode last weekend? It was a re-run from June 6, 2009 original air date. I thought it was pretty cool yet different. http://www.spike.com/full-episode/460-payoff-ls1-carb/32439 I guess this is for the guys that don't want to go through the hassle of converting their ride to EFI? Has anyone done this, just curious if your numbers matched what the Horsepower TV guys received? SSflyer
Yup, I saw that episode. They were making some big horsepower numbers after the conversion. LSx engines are indeed a modern marvel!
JMortensen
I think Pop N Wood did this conversion before he was banned. I seem to recall that there were dyno numbers showing slightly higher hp than with factory FI, but I don't think they were his, I think they came from Hot Rod magazine. Gimmee a sec and I'll post you some dyno charts... . The Carbed LSx runs right with the EFI versions and even better in some instances... And it's drop dead sexy with a single 4bbl sitting on top! Be right back...
Administrators BRAAP Posted August 14, 2009 Administrators Share Posted August 14, 2009 These Dyno charts came from this book; Courtesy SA design There are even more Carb dyno sheets comparing different cylinder heads, cams, etc. Personally, I don’t put much stock in the actual numbers, just the shape of the power curve and when back to back such these are, the trends of what the changes produce are good “indicatorsâ€!
