I am trying to clean up the engine bay and one less belt is an easy way to do it. But what I have gathered is the racks are different. I have a 82 and there is no option for manual at the LPS. chrismiller5157 Posted August 29, 2009 Share Posted August 29, 2009 So, i have a 81 280zx, and a 83 280zx. The 81 has the gear box for its power steering, and the 83 har rack. Let me tell you......i cant really see or tell the diffrence in the car's. {before either one had mods} But if you sill want to do this swap, i know of a guy in houston,TX who has 4 Rack's for sale. 200.00 + shipping an there used.
