djbit
Okay, here's what I'm thinking I will need for making my Hx35W turbo work with my IC... am I missing something? Is the 2.75 inch diameter ok? Also, anyone deal with siliconeintakes.com?
boardkid280z
The Holset outlet after the 90deg bend is a 3" outlet? If so, why are you reducing it to 2.75". That's not much, but it's still a reduction. And a reduction will reduce flow. It might increase velocity, but you don't really want or need that before the IC. I would make the turbo to intercooler piping 3". Checked out the website, that looks like a pretty good deal on hoses and couplers.
Zmanco
Last week I bought some silicon parts and an air filter from siliconintakes.com and the transaction was perfect.

DeleriousZ
the throttle body is a 2.5" coupler? IIRC z31's are 2.75", but it may have changed from generation to generation.
Drax240z
A 60mm TB typically is a good match with a 2.75" coupler.
ktm
Another nod for www.siliconeintakes.com I purchased my clamps and reducers from them a few years back and highly recommend them.
djbit
Yep, it's 3". Thanks for the advice. The only reason I really had it at 2.75" was to be sure I would have enough space in case things got busy in that area. So the 2.75in on the intake site is fine? Thank you all for the input. djbit
I'm using a 240sx throttle body which measured 2.5" for me. the throttle body is a 2.5" coupler? DeleriousZ
I have a 240sx (s13) 60mm throttle body and a 2.75" coupler fits snugly over it. I wouldn't try and make a 3" fit; I doubt you could get a 2.5" over it. I just came in from the garage after test fitting this.
WizardBlack
Your layout looks good. The only alteration some people make is to switch which end of the IC is connected to the throttle body. I personally switched them so that the cool post-intercooler charge doesn't have to run across the back of the radiator where the fans blow hot air on it. I don't think it's a major issue, though. Plenty of both ways. Silicon intakes is good.
letitsnow
Another to siliconeintakes. The 2.5" coupler was slightly loose on my stock TB, it looks like it will seal with the t bolt tightened down on it though.
