Help with headers

Recommended Posts

Hello, i was wondering if someone can help me with the correct headers to choose, here is my problem.

I have a 260Z 1974Early ver, right now has a L28 Engine, im almost done with the repairs of my 1979 Camaro 350 engine with 1985?? 305 Heads, i live in mexico, i saw some headers on many websites specialized on Z V8 Conversions, but as mexican mailing system really sucks, i want to buy the headers for my engine in a local retail store, but they dont know wich headers will fit on my Z, so, here is the big question, does anyone know the specs of the headers that will fit in my car with this engine?? i want to have A/C on the car in a future, but i dont know if this is possible.

Thanks for reading.

I second the recommendation on block huggers. They should fit fine on both JTR-type and Scarab-type V8 installations. If you're looking to economize, eBay has a bunch of decent block hugger headers -- I bought these and am really happy with both the quality of construction and the customer service.

I think most people would agree that ceramic coating is well worth the few extra $$.

Regarding shipping, most major shippers (like UPS, FedEx, and DHL) have international distribution....so you shouldn't have to rely on the local mail system.

Good luck and be sure to post your results after the conversion is finished!

Here's JTR's page on Datsun Z cars -- STRONGLY recommend you buy their conversion manual if you don't already have one.

You can also get some good tech data on all their headers from Sanderson's webpage.

"Nullbound" was recently selling some nice Hooker block hugger headers at a great price here on HybridZ -- they may still be available.

I still have them, but recently decided not to sell them. These are slated to go in a 240z that a friend purchased over the weekend.

Thanks for the referral, though.
