jay260z
What is a good spring rate to start with on a 74 260z 2+2 327 sbc for street/strip and some spirited drivng also. Ive seen 225-250 ratios and a 250-300 if i remember correctlly but im not sure how well it worked.

BluDestiny
Really comes down to how sensitive the driver is. My brother loves really stiff rides, he has 8N/mm in the front and 10N/mm in the rear. Not a comfortable ride by any means... conversion factor to get lbs/in you divide those numbers by .0179
johnc
The Illuminas rebound valving is limited to spring rates of 275 lb. in. or less. Ideally you need to say under 250 to be able to use some of the adjustability in the shock.

John, so what you're saying is that with a stiffer spring, such as 250 lb/in, the illuminas can only be used on their higher settings, say 4 and 5? BluDestiny
No those spring rates are for his Type R, the one in my sig.

Yes. But I say that in the context of autocross and track use. On the street you can run lower the lower adjustment numbers but the spring won't be as controlled.
