xonix_digital
I am looking at a Z in the northeast with some framerail rusting. How much does it cost to fix something like this on average? How much rust is too much to try and fix on a set of framerails? Thanks guys, - Alex
rturbo 930
Where exactly is it rusting? Chances are the car isn't worth your time...
Dan Juday
... a Z in the northeast with some framerail rusting. You're being redundant. Sorry, couldn't resist. In all seriousness now, nobody here is going to be able to answer that for you. Take the car to a shop that specializes in restoration before you buy. Chances are there is much more rust than just what you can see.
xonix_digital
lol Tell me about it! I have looked at many Zs up here and they have all been trash so far. This one looks the most promising. What I was looking for was maybe someone who had done it to chime in and tell me how much it cost them. I don't know if it costs $200 or $2000. Or if I can do it myself. I am very good at learning how to do stuff on my own. Just thought someone would have some experience with it that they wouldn't mind sharing. Here is the car: -=XD=-
KillerBjt
Got any pictures of the underside of the car or the lower panels?
ZR8ED
http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=154640 I just redid my entire floors and frame rails. Car is for sale too! (shameless plug I know) Head to the fabrication forum. More threads in there regarding all sorts of metal type work. Scott.
Mayolives
Body work can be THE most expensive type of repair work if you are paying someone to do it. The material cost can be realitivey inexpensive. The cost to cut out a small area and replace it would be far less then having to replace the entire rail. By searching the body section of this forum, you will find a ton of good imformation on the "how to" and cost involved.
