Guest DATTO
hey this is funny..this is my first time at this board and i was reading posts then all of a sudden a picture of my car pops up...hehe pretty cool though. heres another angle of how zg flares would look on a 240z. this shows the depth if you run 0 offset...i wish i had money to go wider but for now im happy. go to http://www.geocities.com/coolin550/Oldschool_Racers.html [ July 07, 2001: Message edited by: DATTO ]

Guest DATTO
Hey pete thanks man...the color of my 240z is gunmetal pearl..when i got the car in 96 thats the only color i wanted for the z..as for the grill, it cost me 4 bucks and my labor..hehe go to "home base" not home depot..home depot sells the thin wire mesh. home base has the diamond cut thicker wire mesh...just cut out a rectangle bigger than the mouth then bend the sucker and shove it in. i bent the mesh onto the original grill to hold on. if you want pics email me..digi cam comes in handy yo fairlady 327 i met a guy at the motorsport nationals and he has 16 by 9.5 rear and 15 by 8.5 fronts that are watanabe rims. im not sure of the offset he got but i would think 10's can fit nicely...take it easy all...oh yeah my flares were $150 for all 4..peace go here to see the picture of the 16 by 9.5'' watanbes with same zg flares http://www.geocities.com/coolin550/watts.html [ July 09, 2001: Message edited by: DATTO ]
pparaska
DATTO, Yeah, I was tossing up a color like that and the one I picked http://members.home.net/pparaska/image/recentpics/2001July3/P0000308s.jpg The one I picked (95-97 Audi A4 Europa Blue Mica) brightens up a bunch in the sunlight. That charcoal color looks awesome! Thanks for the tip on the perorated metal. I need to find some of that. I like the idea of using the OE grill as a way to hold it. Thanks, Pete
Guest DATTO
yo pete pretty damn sweet car..i love the color...geez makes me want to paint my car again. great car...speed and looks. one day my car will be fast...i hope! if you need more shots for the grill, let me know...i got a digital camera and time to waste..hehe take it easy..check out my site, i updated it a bit: www.geocities.com/coolin550/Oldschool_Racers.html
pparaska
Datto, thanks! Man I wouldn't touch the paint on your car - I love it. A closer pic to show the pattern in your grill would be cool. I saw your page with all the pics of your car, but I can't tell even from the front end shot what the pattern looks like. Thanks
DavyZ
Owen, it'll be good to see it mounted. I have seen Datto's and I can say that it looks like it's supposed to be there. There is "racecar" mesh available from pegasus racing (don't know the url) that I saw on a post in Zcar.com; just thought someone would like to know. Owen
Nismo sells one too, for like $300 bucks or something? I was at Motorsport last month and they have one they are starting to sell for $150...I asked to see it, "measured" the grill holes with my finger and went straight to HomeDepot. I will try to put mine on but the hood is off too, so after I do that. Mine bolts to where the stock one did, except for the center bolt. Owen
I did this with the grill too with metal bought at Home Depot. The grill stuff is like for doors, barbeques, whatever. Mine has the diamond pattern with a hole a little bigger than my finger. I like the flat look of the grill so I chose not to put the bend in mine. I have one picture at http://v8zcar.topcities.com/s30z/quo.htm look for the link to the grill. Owen
