4u2nV Posted April 20, 2010 Share Posted April 20, 2010 i have a 71 240z i just picked up 3 weeks ago and it has a black vinyl top covering the back half of the roof and almost the whole hatch...i've never seen this before and can't find pics of a Z with it anywhere...does anyone else have one or have pics of one? It was a factory option, and pretty much has no function other than its vinyl on the roof. It's a good find though since not many people have it. TheMission Posted April 22, 2010 Share Posted April 22, 2010 Yikes, looks like it came out of the 70's... oh wait, it did! Seems to break up the clean roof line of the Z. I don't know if I'd personally keep it and invest in new vinyl to make it perfect, or scrap the look and put the work into removing it and the body work that would surely be needed as a result of it's removal. The info I heard was that american dealerships added them to raise price and make them stand out from other z's when they were new.
