z ya
Anyone have any pics of these flairs installed? I kinda like um but how does the rivits mold to the body? Do they fit good? How wide are they??
Owen
Here's some. http://v8zcar.topcities.com/s30z/wangan.htm http://v8zcar.topcities.com/sanmaruz/misc3.htm They just bolt on. You can use rivets or just some regular bolts, the holes are about a quarter inch. Owen
z ya
What do you guys think of them? I think they look pretty sick IMHO. Man, I cant decide what to do! Flair it or not .
fl327
i like them, i think people run 10.5 wide tires under those with 275's or something like that....they are nice, but the wheels are expensive once you get the space like that to fill. Owen
Flare it! I run 10.5 (or was it 10.0) in the rears with 245s, may have to roll the fender lip a bit. Owen
Guest JAMIE T
http://www.msnusers.com/JamiesZPage/jamieszcarphotos.msnw The gold car is my driver. The black car is just some super sweet Zcar that I found pics of on the internet. I love these flares, my car had them on it when I bought it. My other(under construction) Z will have them also. That car will be a Wangon Midnight looker(like Owens) as well. Jamie

z ya
I was thinking about those 17x10.5 cobra R's with adaptors and the ZG flairs in the back. Then 17x9 R's in the front with adaptors and the ZG's. As for tires 285/40/17 nitto 555's for the rear and 255's in the front end. What do you guys think of this set up? fl327
if you want them to be any more than fashion flares, you have to cut the fenderwell.
pparaska
Sounds great, z ya. Add a G-nose and it'd be that much better, IMO. Dan's car looks sweet! Great color too. I like that black Wangan Midnite looking car that Jamie has on his site - that's NICSHH
Owen
"Can anyone find that guys email at that Wangun Midnight sight....I wan't his wheels." You might be able to find this in another thread. I looked it up and they were AVS Type6 or something? Owen
fl327
i remembe those were the rims they put on so when they upgraded the turbo and dropped in the super l28 motor, and that super duuper huge exhaust he could beat the white 280zx, hey owen, do you understand the storyline, i dont understand a word of that movie, except when they say " at, tweeeeeeeeeeen turbo ah"
pparaska
I don't understand any of the words either - but I watched 4 of them, and I have a few waiting for me to find the time. I LOVE the on the road shots and the sound of the turbos, intake swoosh, etc. The 17 speed trannies are pretty funny though .
fl327
they seem to always be shifting, that i did notice, i wish there was just a little street racing, not so much on the freeway.... have you seen the one yet where its like a flashback sequence that puts all different series together, that ones great... the wangan midnite guy becomes a car salesman and the super mechanic goes to hawaii. Owen
I do understand the story and trust me, you ain't missin much! If anyone really wants to know, I already have some sort of synopsis made out, if I can find it... Me too on seeing more street racing, just one scene quarter mile against the gold GTR. BLKMGK
I like those flairs too - do they stick out far? If I added them would I be cutting out metal too? With the wheelstires I've got would they look silly all up under the car? Would like to see some in person, would be way cool Dan's car is sweet! Guest JAMIE T
Speaking of wheels and that gold GTR. I priced some Rays Engineering TE37's in about 17"x9". How does @$450 each sound, I'm definately getting them, it will just take alittle longer than I thought. Jamie
fl327
owen, please let us in on the story! i havenet seen the guy go head up on the skyline. only ones ive seen have him and the blackbird the blue skyline-the hawaii one the white 280z-the super mechanic dude and a couple others before i gave up, giving me a headache. blkmgk-to make them give you the benefit of extra rubber, you do have to cut them up, and bond them on, but not as much as a fully blended set of flares, but they have that racer racer type look though, and no they dont stick out very far. z ya
Do you guys think that with my set up some 17x7's or 7.5's would go up in smoke off the line with 215/45/17's or 225/40/17's? I am considering the honda wheels but am afraid that they wont hold the power when the skinny pedal is mashed
