900ss
So I can use a greedy style inlet plenum on an RB25 Does the throttle body flange of the plenum deffo need modding to allow the tbh to clear the inner wing? (260z) Is so anyone got any pics to show what angle it needs re-setting at? btw, I would offer it up myself but my cars in the body shop without an engine, so not so simple
jakeoster
I don't think you need to modify anything, you just need to pipe your intercooler to it.
900ss
Cheers I've prev converted it to frt entry using the std plenum, but wanted a change So if its just the top boost hose that should keep things simple. Still need to decide on what throttle body to use tho ?
fast-datsun
WE modify them for more fender inter panel clearance. Cut off flange and weld on at new angle....
900ss
WE modify them for more fender inter panel clearance. Cut off flange and weld on at new angle.... Thats what I'm thinkin If you was a little closer I might just pop in to see whats what I guess it also depends on what throttle body is used aswell? Esp as the std housing has those sticky out bits that must get in the way ? btw, your RB engine mount kit fitted a treat

900ss
We can supply a modified one or do yours if you need... Many thanks for the offer! I think I should be able to get it modified here in the uk
rayaapp2
If you are using a GReddy intake you can have it modified as described OR you can run the large VH45 throttle body with a 45* 3.5" - 3" silicone coupler reducer and it should clear after removing the carbon canister mount from the rights side of the inner fender well. Personally I ran a 3.5" - 3.5" 45* coupler and worked the inner fender well to sufficiently clear the pipe. But I was going for volume in front of the TB. 900ss
you can run the large VH45 throttle body I've had a look at pics of a Q45 throttle body but they look a bit chunky? So my plan was to use one of those simple smaller aftermarket throttle bodies? 80 or 90mm maybe ? Not having seen either in the flesh it makes it harder to be sure But they look a better bet? If you do that you may end up with a slightly shorter TB which will help drastically with where that pipe and coupler ends up. Just make sure you get a good TB as I have not heard good things about the cheap China Knock-Offs.
RS Speed
It gets pretty close to the inner fender but I managed to make it work. I used a 3.5-3" 45 degree coupler as Rayaapp2 described and ran my throttle body sideways, having the cable hidden under the manifold which saved up some room on the side. RS Speed inspired the idea though in all fairness. It took about 45 minutes to make a cable mount at the correct angle. Its also pretty clean looking this way. 5thgenluder
I got my greddy style manifold from mckinney. They hand picked a good knock off for me and then modified it to work for me. Just got it on weds. Heres a few pics.

900ss
Cheers for the pics, thats a great help I see the main water union on that plenum has been welded in aswell It looks the same as the one I bough from the states (I couldn't find one here at the time) I went for one that came with the tbh addaptor kit, tho that needs to be machined flat before it can be used Think mine was cast from a block of wonky cheese tho lol
rise
whenever I run the greddy with the vh45 tb I remove the canister bracket from the fender skirt its easy, takes full advantage of the open plenum intake, and smooths out the skirt. linluv84
Very nice work Mack. If the money is there around tax season, maybe I'll upgrade. Will that work with a NEO as well? Anybody have performance data on the Greddy intake? BTW, I got the intercooler kit to sorta fit for now. I'd prefer to make a trip to Cali someday and have you guys look at it personally to figure out what needs to be modified...

Well I've gone for one of those cheapies Looks good and seems to fit well 80mm and bolts straight onto the plenum without need for an addaptor or mods Should save some room now ?
