Nissan Turbo Manifold Gasket

I ordered and went to pick up a turbo manifold gasket from a Nissan dealer. The gasket they gave me had circle exhaust holes so I told the guy that this wasn't for a turbo engine. He checked the computer and his response was that the gasket was no longer available from Nissan. He said that they stopped producing it. Is this true, or does anyone know where to get these? Are we left with the Felpro gasket as our only option?

Intake/Exhaust Manifold Gasket, 79-83 280ZX

Code:10-2515

Price: $17.96

Please Call

Quantity in Basket: none

Yeah, I saw that but for that price I bet that it is like the Felpro one, problably just paper on the outside. I wanted to use the Nissan type. From reading past threads, that is the one to use and it is reusable.

What type of gaskets are others using now that the Nissan one is NLA, and with what success. I want to make sure I don't have any leaks but would like to be able to remove the manifold easily, if I need to work on anything, without having to scrape off the old gasket.

Tell your parts guy at Nissan that he is an idiot. It is still available.....from what I know. My friend has been parts manager at a Nissan dealer for a LONG time, and I recently got him to order me one. I'll have him check it out tomorrow and get the part number for you. It took us a while to find the turbo one, we got the round one the first time.

Dang... I did not know MSA sold trash gaskets. I was under the impression they sold Nissan gaskets when it comes to needing a good quality product in that application. I would not buy a fel-pro for use there.. I always used oem, purchased from Courtesy Nissan.

I don't know what kind of quality the MSA gaskets are but the Nissan manifold gaskets are around $40 plus tax.

I wasn't sure if that guy knew what he was talking about, but he checked on the computer if that means anything. S130Z let me know what you can find out. I would like to buy one from a local Nissan dealer since shipping might be expensive.

Hey Flatty, that is a head gasket, not an intake/exhaust gasket.

Wow, I fail! Sorry OP

I have been using the Felpro gaskets for at least 4 manifold changes, and they hold 11 psi with no problem.

I prefer them because O'Rielly's always have them in stock, and they are only $11.

This ( http://www.courtesyparts.com/gasket-man-p-251838.html ) is a good deal if this ( 14035-N3500 ) is the correct part number. It is only a little over $30 with shipping. I don't want to get burned with the wrong gasket like they tried to at the local Nissan dealer. I'll check to see if it is the same part number on the receipt that they gave me when I get home. I think I still have the receipt.

I have both OEM and felpro in my possesion, and I personally don't feel the OEM is worth the price premium. It's a little nicer, and probably won't need as much retorque once burned it, but I garentee you WILL be needing to scrap of gasket crap if it's been on there a while, and you WILL want to replace it. You might be able to get a couple uses out of it, but I wouldn't push it.

I like that the felpro is much easier on the wallet if you're taking the manifolds off a lot - like I have when you're trying to track down a manifold leak that's actually at the head...

Oh, and I find it funny when people like to trash talk certain company of gaskets, or like to say OEM is the only way to go. I only find it funny because I've seen guys running insane HP levels on the cheapest of gaskets. And I've seen people at stock power levels running metal gaskets... Nothing wrong with anyone's choice, it just kinda makes me chuckle.
