revlis240
Hey im doing almost the exact swap. I have a 78 350 with a 1985 T5 camaro. Did the camaro flywheel bolt right up to the old 350? I know there are 2 different rear main seal types, i didnt know if itll bolt right up or if ill need a custom flywheel. Thanks Edited October 18, 2010 by revlis240

tbellis
I believe the early 350 2-piece rear main seal is internally balanced and the newer style one piece rear main engine is externally balanced. Please verify ths but I think this is corrct.
Geking
revlis240, the small block moved from a 2 piece main seal to a one piece in 86, so you should be fine. Pre 86 all small block bolt patterns are the same using the 2 piece main seal, and from 86 till the LS1 all flywheel bolt patterns are the same using the one piece main seal(yes the LT1 uses a small block flywheel). Miles
TheSBC dust shields have been NLA for some time. I couldn't find a JY dust shield so I made one by tracing the Bell Housing outline onto a sheet of aluminium and marking the bolt hole locations. GOTHALOSISM
If they are that hard to find I'll start stockpiling them when i hit up the JY'ds here.
