asuly
Hi a friend of mine gave me a non running 1982 280zx thats in OK shape. I ended up replacing the fuel pump and making some adjustments and now it runs very strong. I stripped most of the interior except some panels and seats and the dash. I posted it on craigslist for 1500 and got 2 calls within an hour. But i took it off since i dont have all the papers yet. I need an experts opinion, how much should i repost the car for? It will need to be towed since it is still in non-op and hasnt been registered since 2002. Any ideas? Anything i should invest in the car to help it raise in value? Thanks alot, I posted my classified ad below. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Awesome 1982, 280ZX coupe with t-tops. I am the third owner and I know both of the previous owners. The first owner who bought it new lived in Orinda and the second owner who bought it in 95 lives in Brentwood, so it's a nice RUST FREE California car. It has a very small amount of surface rust though, other than that it is completely rust free guaranteed. This is a very nice blue plate, completely stock, old school hot rod. Rust, all surface: -above windshield and by tail light -spare tire compartment Exterior: - dent near tail light, cheap fix - nice brownish color, paint still in ok shape - crack in drivers side t-top Interior: - almost totally stripped, perfect for restoration - stock seats and dash still in place + some other plastic panels Mechanical: - 195,000 miles -engine runs strong -new rebuilt transmission - new fuel pump + most fuel lines -all fluids changed - air conditioning blows cold - power steering, fuel injected - works well eclectically and mechanically
NewZed
Non-running is probably less than the Low Retail - http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-22-1-5013-0-0-0&l=1&w=22&p=1&f=5014&y=1982&m=1254&d=802&c=13&vi=79166&z=97225&da=-
hoov100
Hard to say, but I would think $1500 would be a good starting price for negotiations. Just remember to sell it as is and don't imply that it will pass smog, so they can't come back and sue you because it failed emissions. ArchetypeDatsun
My opinion would be $700-800obo at the very most since there is surface rust, gutted interior, & it's non operational. Put the interior back in also get the paper work done and get it to run as good as possible and I can see you getting $1500 for it possibly not much more. asuly
Sorry for the confusion but the car runs, it is not non operational. I may be wrong but I think it is in DMV system as non op but it is still operational. Somebody offered to give me 1500 for it, and I am thinking wether I should report it for 2000 or give it to the guy for 1500. Let me know what you think. I may be able to register it so it is streetlegal but I'm not sure if I want to spend the money.

asuly
Sorry I did not mean "report" I meant "repost"
ModernS30
Sorry I did not mean "report" I meant "repost" Take 1500 for that. Especially in CA. The cars are much more common to be found clean on your coast. 1500 is a good deal.
