XedLos
I have a 1982 280zx non turbo which has a body kit. The thing is that it scrapes where ever i go. So i am looking to lift the car. What would this involve? ANy good places to read up on. Has anyone already done it and have some suggestions. I am not looking for a crazy lifted car. Maybe 5 inches or so. ArchetypeDatsun
Is your suspension stock or aftermarket?

XedLos
It scrapes every drive way I pull into. I believe I have stock suspension. I just got the car a week ago.

Sounds like maybe your shocks might be shot get them checked or you can even build your own coil over suspension if you got the tools and a way to even weld theres a thread on here that tells you how build your own coil over kit might wanna look into that, if not then maybe some buy some new shocks? Might also check into the thread on the very top of the topics: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/85166-s130-suspension-tech/ or http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/94002-how-to-install-s13-coilovers-on-280zx-and-poly-bushings/

sticky280zx
or the most reasonable thing would be to actually post pics of the car to show us what it looks like, i reallly have a hard time believing that a stock car scrapes with a kit, mine was lowered with a kit and didnt scrape on anything. Delasangre4231
Send a picture of the driveways you scrape on too
KnightoftheRound
My car is lowered...what like 3 inches from stock? I don't scrape anything speed bumps, I used to scrape my air-dam on things, but it is off for repairs. A stock 280ZX sits hilariously high up, so I too find it hard to believe unless the shocks are blown.
sticky280zx
blown shocks would cause the car to bounce, but i dont see them being deflated and the car being drivable with them riding literally on the bumpstops all the time.
