  1. Sorry no new updates or pictures. Bought a new toy and the Z is kind of sidelined at the moment. Will pics of the new toy suffice?
  2. Thanks! The fronts are 17x9 +35 and the rears are 17x10 +20
  3. Federal 595RS-R's. 255/40's in the rear and 235/40's up front.
  4. No tires yet, everyone is back-ordered on the ones I want so I'm just waiting to see which shop gets them in first.... I haven't ordered spacers yet, so in the pictures they are just mocked up against the studs. You might be able to get away with a 1.25" in the rear and 1.5" up front if you're running coilovers. That would give around 5.1" and 4.9" backspacing respectively.
  5. Definitely keep us updated on this. I'm going to be in need of some quality adapter/spacers here soon and would like to hear how much these are gonna cost.
  6. It's an unconverted Saiga. I think in 7.62x39
  7. So can this now be a post your AR thread..?
  8. Awesome rifle man!! AR's are one of my few other hobbies outside of the Z, glad to see I'm not the only one. You got any plans in the works for yours yet?
  9. Unfortunately it will probably be a little while before I've got tires and flares. But, here they are just mocked up for now...
  10. I ended up going with 17x10 for the rear and 17x9 for the fronts.
  11. Just re-reading this thread and wanted to point out DO NOT GO TO THIS LINK!!! The picture it links too now tried installing viruses on my computer. Just a heads up for any others reading this thread....
  12. Yeah I was thinking about a 2" or 1.5" up front and a 1.5" out back. But, I'm gonna wait till wheels and flares are here to make sure the measurements are perfect. As far as safety with spacers, kind of a counter-intuitive statement right there, I think I'm going to try a solution similar to this THREAD.
  13. I think I may just cave and do 17x9's up front and 17x10's out back with 235/40 and 255/40 respectively. The 17x10's up front with 255's just seem like it is going to be more work than it is worth to make it right.
  14. At most I would want to be running a 255 up front to match the rear. I think it's possible on 17x10's under the flares but I'm waiting for a bit more feedback before I fully commit.
  15. True. Those are the Ventus r-s3's which run a little bit wide but it's nothing like a 235/45r17 on a 17x10.
  16. Correct, his are 235's This is what a 255/40r17 on a 17x10 looks like... Barely any stretch.
  17. Thanks for the replies and all of the help. I'm usually pretty decent at figuring stuff out for myself but I'm fairly lost when it comes to tires, offsets, flares, etc. on these z cars. Ideally I would like to run the same size wheel and tire combo on each corner. EMWHYR0HEN is running 255's all the way around so I'm gonna pm him and see what was required besides a lot of cutting to the airdam to get this to work. If anything the 255 on a 10" wide wheel would probably help fit the tire under the flare.
  18. 295/35r17 is an expensive size With a 295 out back I think I would want a bit larger tire up front than a 245, which brings me back to the original problem. So I guess how do you like those BAMF flares?
  19. I've had a hard time finding 17s with a 35 aspect ratio.. Isn't a 295 going to have a problem fitting under a standard zg?
  20. Ok so does 245/40r17 on a 17x9 for the front and a 255/40r17 on a 17x10 for the rear sound like it would work well? I know each will have a little bit of stretch and I don't mind that. I don't really want to go larger in the rear since the tires get taller as the width increases and I'm trying to stay at or under a 25 inch diameter, and the front will be a 24.7 inch tire as it is.
  21. So it looks like 17x10 may be a little ambitious and counter productive. Would a 245/40r17 fit without too much trouble on a 17x9 front with the regular Zg's or am I still going to need to go smaller?
  22. From your response it doesn't sound like you are sick of engineering. It sounds like you are sick of the way that most public schools have become degree factories that place making a profit far ahead of teaching quality or student success. Unfortunately if you do change majors you will probably run into all of the things that are making you so frustrated right now. So IF you do decide to look at other majors at UTA I would try and get a really good feel for that department and the teachers in it, the department can make all the difference. And at the end of the day ctc is absolutely right. College taught me to teach myself far more than it ever taught me engineering or economics.
  23. Just from briefly talking with you in pm's the other day I got the impression that you were in the exact same place I was before I changed my major from engineering. For me at least it wasn't so much that I disliked engineering but I could no longer take all of the reasons that you have mentioned from your latest class. So I guess I'd just ask yourself a couple questions. -I guess most importantly, are you really done with engineering or just fed up with being in an obviously terrible situation that is out of your control? -Do you think you have the dedication to follow through with engineering classes in the future that will most likely be similar situations and harder than your current statics course? -Are there other majors that you are interested in that you think would suit you better? Ie: you'd be happier in the long run doing it every day of your life instead of engineering. Hopefully that helps. ETA: How is everyone else doing in the class? If you are around or above average on the exam I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've taken classes that I failed every single test before the curve was applied, including the final, and still came out with a respectable grade.
  24. Suspension will be s13 coils with stock LCAs for now. I'm not really opposed to cutting the front valence for clearance issues either. ETA: getoffmyinternet, are you running the bamf flares?
