  1. Just pay for the real watanabes. Only a couple hundred more and you sleep better at night knowing you have real deal watanabe wheels. Atara is a knockoff fake replica that ripped off watanabe down to the center cap. Not worth it. They even stole watanabe offsets. Rota are cool because they distinguish their knockoffs.

  2. Thanks for the input guys, I will go ahead and use 1/4" combo insert/bolt. The question I have now is what material thickness do I need? I know the car's sheetmetal gauage is 16-20, which is .0359"-.0598." So going through macmaster carr I should get these?

I am sorry for the rook questions, but hate buying something that wont work. I just need some assurance.

I will check out Harbor freight also.

    Thanks again.

  3. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/47525-how-to-mount-them-there-zg-flares/

Ok, I'm ready to install zg flares and need some help selecting nut inserts and allen head bolts. I was looking at A.Hoke write-up and want to replicate his mount kit since he no longer has them for sale. Is there a way you guys can help me choose from; http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-rivet-nuts/=pgtwro or other sources. I am bad with measurements, standard or mm. Hope some of you can help out.

    Thanks

  4. Ok I fixed it! Headlights work like a million bucks. I cleaned the fuse box and added fresh fuses, then I did: http://www.kamikazeracing.org/dl/ZTech/Rebuild_240Z_combo_switch.pdf. It is the same for the early 260z, the wire colors and everything. The step by step process is exactly identical. The points where corroded, cleaned them up and switched the contact plates. Amazingly, my headlights work and are even brighter.

  5. Hey, I've been having a problem with the driver side headlight on my early 260z. The headlights where bought from silvana a year ago new. They worked great until the right one went dim on me a couple of months back. They occasionally work when I hit a bump, but most of the time they are dim. If they work post a bump they stay on until I turn the car off and shut lights with it. There is also a grounding question I have.  The lights have a ground wire which I traced to the driver side firewall, close to the master cylinder/clutch master cylinder. The problem is I don't know where it goes because its just loose and just there not bolted or grounded to nothing, any input of where this wire goes to? Also, anything I can do to fix dim driver side headlight? I wanted to clean fuse box, but it seems I cant disconnect since wires are long to the terminal. I wanted to clean with vinegar (fuse box). Any help would be great, thanks hybridz.

  6. I'm an owner of 16" watanabe wheels and tires seem hard to come by these days. Just got informed about these coming out. I wanted to share with you guys so possibly the demand for 245-45-16 tires increase. I just ordered a set of two, but wont be using them any time soon as I have brand new Fuzion zr1 245 45/16 rear and also running this year's new 225 45 16 Dunlop Direzza ZII for the front. Hope you guys keep your 16" wheels as I see more and more go on sale due to lack of tire options.

Might not be new,  I think they have been out for a year or two, but its the first time I have seen them on tirerack for this size.
