  1. I have a set of AZC wilwood rear that are not installed yet. My brakes currently are stock. I just woke up this morning to find my rear wheel brake cylinders leaking. I was wondering if I can install the AZC brakes even though fronts are stock? I have a large 260z brake booster on the car and 15/16 master cylinder on the shelf ready for install. If I install AZC rear with 15/16 master cylinder would that be ok? I think I should invest in brake Proportion valve also. The reason I have AZC rear was because I found a deal I couldn't pass up a couple months back. I will lose Parking Brake, but I live and travel to flat parking areas, though AZC has Parking Brake option now. The fronts will be upgraded next year around April. I hope you guys can help.

  2. Hey Skirk, I can get you 165" lash pads for L engine. They are from a cam company here in socal. I wont be able to get them to you by the time you want them, but they are available. I don't want to middle man you but I can source and ship for retail price, but I wouldn't mind some cash for time and a burger. Anyway, lash pads are not that expensive.  LMK

  3. I use to daily my car, got a 5 speed, 3.9 r200 LSD, coilovers with Tokico Illumina, a Nardi Deep corn Steering wheel for a smooth grip, a semi upgraded engine, made sure cooling system was up to date, and other mods. It was reliable but hated when my rear wheel brake cylinders leaked (3 times total), so I did a rear disk conversion. Fun to daily drive, I would do it again, but needed more mpg.

  4. I've read that in 2009 Tokico stop production of its shocks. I sectioned my struts for tokico Illumina mr2 and 240z strut inserts. I am running ground control coilovers. Anyway, since tokico stop producing shocks and will soon make illuminas 240z and mr2 scarce, is there an alternative shock of equal or better quality? I like the koni race strut inserts, but measurement is different. Is there a way I can make these work even though my struts are modified and sectioned for Tokico illumina. Is there a way I can lengthen and shorten them any further for another in production quality strut insert (shock)?

  5. Man those mpg numbers are tempting. The Prelude is now a top priority, but will look into a clean civic or accord. I don't want to put a body kit or nothing of that sort, but the LA honda (civic/crx/accord/integra/rsx) scene is different. They put such a bad rep to the car and it seems like everyone has one. That's not the point though, mpg and reliability, The ford SVT looks good, might get one of those, but it still doesn't compare to honda accord or civic mpg. I'm buying a car mid August so I have some time to narrow it down to a good car. Its also unfortunate to hear bad reviews about the audi and VW, no I know I will stay away. Thanks!

  6. Leon, that's exactly the problem. The s13/prelude/mr2 that aren't kid owned and beat up are hard to

find. The prelude has 200bhp and mph is like 20city/29hwy. The ford is a car I'm considering now. And it seems like everyone says the same about vw/Audi, really nice looking cars non the less.

  7. I'm about to start school and need a daily commuter. There are 5 cars that I'm looking into, but need help choosing or one that you might have in mind. I'm looking for fuel efficiency (hwy miles), realibility, power. Low end torque is a plus. All cars come with standard trans, which is all I'm going to buy, no automatic. The 5 cars I am looking at are:

97-01 Honda prelude (base or SH)

    02-04 Audi a4 1.8t

    00-04 golf gti

    91-94 Toyota mr2 turbo

s13 240sx KA or Sr20det swap (sr20 are really common on craigslist)

help me choose with pro's and cons's.

My Z's will be my weekend cars.

School is 30miles each way and will like to

take trips on breaks (400 miles or less).

I am also looking at VW TDI, but not too sure on them. Hope you guys have some good input and experience with the cars mentioned.

  8. If you don't want cv axles and want to use stock halfshaft. Then, swap out your 280z r200 yoke/companion flange and put it on the z31 clsd so it bolts up to your driveshaft. Next use your existing 280z r200 side stub axles and lightly hammer them into your new z31 clsd. Now you can use your stock halfshafts. Done!

  9. 619Kris, nice!! I have some watanabes that I ordered 3 months ago, I was contemplating 15" by large offset like picture. I think he has 9.5 and 10.5 rear. Except until I found out larger than 9.5" is sand casting model and has residue leftover on wheels. I want to ask if you see some of the sand casting on your wheels. I went with 16x9 -13 and 16x9.5 -19 rear. I really like you car though.
