Ive got a z31 turbo'd ka24de in my roadster. Its pretty damn fun. I'm finishing up the volvo brake swap today, which I hope is worth it. datsunparts.com sells the stiffer, lower leafs.. as well as the matching competition front springs. All springs, shocks, poly bushings, and bump stops come out to about $1000 +shipping.

yasin, youre right about the radiator and intercooler. the turbo KA is a tight fit. just got a boost gauge hooked up, its at about 6.5 psi. just ordered the brakes today, they were $81 for a fully loaded pair of callipers. core was $66 so i hope they take my roadster brakes in exchange. cant wait, this car is going to get me in some serious trouble if i dont swap the brakes soon.

im really surprised no one bought it. my friend sent me the link like 20 minutes after the auction ended so i emailed the seller and went to see it after work the next day (yesterday) and bought it on the spot. it was 15 minutes away and way too good a deal to pass up. i checked the engine plate today, its actually a 1600. the car runs great, and from what ive explored its pretty well built. it basically just the motor swap, turbo, a quick paint job and wheels, its by no means a fully restored car. the suspension is stock so its a bit soft and bouncy. there are several rattles ive gotta find. only rust rust requiring repair is in the battery spot. the exhaust pipe runs pretty low so speed bumps are a <2mph event. theres a voltage leak somewhere which ill probably find tomorrow, for now i just unplug the battery when im done cruising. one of the coolest things about the car is its small size and lack of blind spots, its just as easy to maneuver as my motorcycle, which is great when youre really paranoid about bumping into stuff backing up in parking lots or whatever. all the lights and signals work, its just a great car to drive. it definitely attracts a lot of positive attention. and not to mention this thing hauls balls. i can be cruising in 3rd and gas it till its boosting and it'll break the rear tires loose, sometimes. anytime in second for sure, its a blast. im about to hook up my friends AEM to it right now and see how the car responds. its really starting to feel like the start of a summer. ive just the other pictures from the auction, ill take some more this weekend and post them here or upload them to my picasa albums for sure.

Hey I bought this 68 datsun 2000 roadster yesterday. Its ridiculously fast but sucks balls at stopping, original brakes. Its got a KA24DE with a Z31 turbo but I need to be able to stop. Any advice on where to look for upgraded brake swaps or that type of thing?

Is the alternator on the SR shared with other motors, like the KA24? I'm trying to buy a remanufactured (or new, but cheap) alternator. The easiest thing would be going to napa auto parts and just getting the US 240sx alternator if its the same (about $150 plus core :/). Anyone know if that will work? Or even a better or cheaper way to get a hold of one? My alternator probably works but it came caked in 5hit and i just dont want a crusty old used one bolted to such a pretty motor. Thanks all.

yeah i saw those. just trying to stay on the cheap side and get wheel, hub, and quick release for like 85 shipped.. which they have, but not specifically for the 240z, thats why i was wondering about compatibility. damn i should just have the quick release acceptor welded on..

this question may be very simple to answer, im wondering whether a steering wheel hub adapter from a newer car is compatible with the 240z steering column, something like the 240sx or similar. i need a cheap steering wheel and im looking on ebay. i have a grant wheel hub, but its 5 bolt pattern, looks like the common universal is 6 bolt. any suggestions? an example

Hey I've got an extra molded carpet kit i need to get rid of. Its the darkest black i could find and its been unfolded since i got it so its had a chance to relax into its proper shape after shipping. It also has that fiber padding adhered to the bottom under the foot and seat areas for cushion and insulation. Comes in 2 halves, left and right. Whole set is pretty lightweight. I guess it can either be glued in or just placed in, although id go for some 3m spray adhesive. Just note it is kind of a pain in the ass to install these if youre really meticulous. I ended up quitting like halfway through installation. I got double charged and sent two sets. Mishap dldn't get resolved and ive only got one z... Paid 180 shipped each. I'm looking for 120+shipping. (completely brand new)

dave told me he made like 10 sets of these at first and had them track tested with great results. also said springs are 9" tall which ill have to verify at home, but from what i measured on my car is just right for a 17" rear wheel and tire to clear, vertically.

id feel better about tack welding something.. if that clamp ever let go, damn i would be pissed. it cool others are thinking along the same lines.
