  1. This stuff works pretty well, and you can pick it up at pretty much any auto store.
  2. Another picture of a ZX with the fanblade wheel inserts.
  3. Are there any plans to include a 280 ZX in the next series of tests? I, as other 280 ZX owners, am interested to see how our cars compare to the first gen Z's in terms of aerodynamics. I am sure that the same types of modifications that were tested on the s30 chassis cars would have much the same effect on s s130 chassis car, but it would be interesting to see the difference in baseline #s between the two.
  4. I'm not sure if this is true for the Z (since I don't have the original headlight wiring harness nor bi-xenon projectors in mine), but in most modern cars turning on the high beam shuts off the power to the low beam (dual filament bulbs use only one filament at a time). Thereby you will not be able to run the ballast off the low beam power source and then use the high beam switch to activate the solenoid, as it wont do you much good to trip the solenoid and have the light itself go out. Other than that it looks good, just make sure you seal it up well in the back, you don't want water getting to those wires that carry 20,000 volts.
  5. I love my CRX seats.
  6. People over there are talking about modding their projectors for better cuttoff/color and whatnot. I had enough trouble getting my POS projectors to fit in the car. LOL
  7. Lexus ES300. I would never go with this setup again - way too bulky. There are much more compact projector assemblies out on the market nowadays.
  8. You wont need a seperate cover for the projectors as long as the headlight covers are water tight. You do not want water getting onto the HID bulb and ballasts. I managed to get my projectors to sit flush inside the modified h4 housings w/o doing any cutting in the fenderwell. It was a lot of work but definitely worth it. Here's a comparison pick w/ the projector assembly on the drivers side and the stock light on the passangers.
  9. That looks great! I will be doing this mod to my bumper when i put it on this summer
  10. This is my DD. I have as much fun taking it off-road as i have driving the ZX.
  11. I prefer the later plastic ones to the stainless ones with the vents... Want to trade?
  12. Nice work Zedevan! I'm glad someone is putting my writeup to good use. I just had my lights apart today to seal them up better as they were fogging up from moisture getting inside. If i was to do this again i would have used different projectors than what i have in there right now. The ones i have are much wider than a lot of the new ones out there and i had to do a bit of cutting on the projector to make it fit in the back (which you do not see in the writeup).
  13. I would definitely be interested in this piece as well, as long as its not like $3k. Looks as if it uses the stock headlight buckets too... any thoughts? I have the MSA type II airdamb and this G-nose looks so much better.
  14. Wouldn't it be possible to use an intake manifold from a VK45 motor which has much shorter runners?
  15. wow, i can only dream about having a job that is that much fun. like someone else asked, did you go to one of the automotive tech schools? what did you do before you landed this job?
  16. i would love to see some photos of his setup then
  17. unless he had someone fab up a completely custom turbo setup for his car there's no way in hell that there's a turbo in your dad's q45. q45t just stands for the touring model of the q45, which includes some trim options, not a turbo
  18. i've got to agree that was the worst design one could possibly envision
  19. Next week i'm driving my 280zx from Scottsdale AZ to Schenectady NY where i now live. Of course once i get it here i have to get new plates and i would like to get something creative for the car. I'm planning a vh45 swap into the car so i would like my plates to reflect that. Here's a few things i've come up with. Feel free to post your own ideas and your own custom plates if you have them on your Zs. I'm interested in what you guys have come up with in this department! here's mine so far: - 007 Z (my other car has 007 MAX [its a maxima lol]) - 1337 280 - 450zx (do you think it would be blasphemous to have this before i actually do the swap?) the car btw
  20. hey ARGAMEMENON, how much would you charge to make one of those manifolds for the vh45? i really like what i'm seeing there
  21. vh45 swap into a 280zx in the planning stages. i have the car, i have the engine, but its a daily driver at this moment so its going have to wait.
