  1. LOL . I used a Ford fuel pump in a 5 gal. bucket to drive my 84 ZXT out of the shop after I removed the fuel tank ( tank rusted beyond repair ) . Yours looks a lot prettier . Now , I need to find the time to install the new used tank so I can her back on the road again .
  2. Just make sure it doesn't leak and DON'T smoke .
  3. I'm going with the LS route with mine in 2 years , emissions reason .
  4. Great job ! Different . Street legal ?
  5. I have a black 84 turbo with the same wheels ( off an anniversary ed. ) . Wish it's red , have enough black Zs already . It's sitting on the back burner for awhile , just needs a fuel tank , which I have ( bought an 87 for parts ) . Just don't have time for her right now . Good luck with your new project .
  6. Wires to your pump do look small .
  7. Unable to see what you are posting .
  8. Would be nice to have , get one if you are plan on keeping the Z for awhile . Feeler gauge and wrench will do just fine .
  9. I saw that . Kinda pricey . Some said that Tabco is cheaper , around $100 .
  10. Same here . Got mine with red stitching and " 280z " embroidered on the headrests . Haven't installed them yet . Doing bodywork at this time .
  11. Where did you get new seat foam ?
  12. Look great ! eBay covers ? I bought a set from eBay , they look very similar to yours , just need to find the time to do them . Did you get new foam ? Well done . I need to read the entire thread before asking , my bad .
  13. You have to drop the fuel tank . Check your FSM . Check the condition of the tank while you're at it .
  14. I would highly rec that you use fuel injection hose clamps on the pressure side . You can try and add a lift pump but I don't think it's necessary . I would check your fuel pick up tube ( in the tank ) to make sure it's in good shape , no holes ( rusted through ) . You stated that it works better with full tank , this leads me thinking something is wrong with the pick up tube , sucking air when fuel level is low .
  15. Read post # 8 . Check valve clearance . If it runs good then leave it alone . Don't over nothing .
  16. Fuel pump at stock location ? What year model ?
  17. Where did you get your slam panel and how much ?
