  1. Well, if you searched on the forums then you already know that the E88 cam should be a 260Z cam which should be stamped "C" on one end. Given this knowledge you should also know from searching that the "C" cam is the best of the stock grind cams for street performance. As for the accuracy of your port measurements, I have no idea. A good street "bore" I suppose differs greatly from person to person as everyone seems to have an opinion. And where did you get a 64mm throttle body? I know of the 60mm KA and the 90mm BMW/Mustang throttle bodies, but I've never heard of a 64mm.

  2. My 77 had an E88 on it when I bought it. Damn that was a nice pulling engine. It's soon to pull even better though. Yes the E88 would be good on the N42 block so long as you take the proper precautions for the EFI. I would also see about having the valve seats replaced with steal and the valve stem seals replaced. Then it would be great...:D

  3. Curious, is the TPS a must have for megasquirt to run properly? I would have though if it was making proper corrections based on the MAP readings and the O2 readings then the TPS shouldn't be a big deal. Unless it has to have that signal for immediate accel enrichment...

  4. Lucky bastard... My buddy got one with a straight body for $200. The interior and all was toast, but the body was decent. Doesn't run though. Looking at the plethora of parts and the plugs in it I'd say it was running super rich, but I haven't taken the time to get it going yet and see how it's going to run for us. It's been sitting for the last 6 years at least, so I know there's much to be done.

  5. The reason I want to swap the crank only is because every reference I have states that the H30 is OHV, meaning it has an inblock cam with pushrods. Simply bolting a L series head on it wont work. Seems the point we have arrived at is we need a closer look at this engine, every part of it. I have sent a few emails out and will do some calling to see if I can track one down, being a holiday weekend, it might take a little longer than I want but I will find one.

I want your connections... I have a hard time finding anything Datsun around here.

  6. I think more than size you need better air flow. I'm not sure what the difference is in flow rates through the 302 radiator and whatever radiator they used for the 500, but my main concern would be getting a good electric fan on there to keep the air moving. Although I didn't see too many places in Kuwait that required slow moving or stopping, however I didn't spend much time in the larger cities either. :)
