I remember reading a while back about the fuel rail cooling fan and how the early ZX doesn't stay on after the ignition shuts down, but the 83 does. There was a mod to fix that problem on the early model and I can't remember where it is. I've tried searching the forums and going through all the tech tips in my bookmarks, but I have come up empty handed. Who remembers this mod?
Thanks!

No. The stock head is all you get unless you somehow become the luckiest guy on the planet and find an LY crossflow head. Otherwise, mod your stock head and go from there.

I had a thread full of blurry pictures going awhile ago detailing my mysterious round port N42...now that i've got a new camera maybe it's time to take some good ones and see if anybody has any new ideas.
I remember that thread. Odd ball head. Lets see some clearer shots.

For as cheap as the NGK copper cores are, don't waste your time. Not worth it.

Someone on here had a 260Z with over 400k on it. I don't remember who it was though. Said it was all original.

True. I think it's mostaly geared towards what they believe to be "ricers" and their Japanese engine swaps. Cops are funny.
-
Cali, from what I've read on here, has laws restricting the engine to stock form and configuration without special permit.
-
Oh ok! That makes more sense then...

Why would you have a 280 cam in a 260? You do know the 260 cam was the better profile of the stock cams right?

I used the front bracket and bolted the chain to a rear intake manifold bolt. Worked great for the two engines I pulled that way. The intake was still on so I had to make a bolt to fit it. Wasn't hard, the head bolts are the same thread pitch so I cut it down a bit and welded another bolt head on to make it the right length.

The Pinks Z was running NOS and a turbo wasn't it? I know that was the plan in the begining.

Yeah I can understand needing a new dampner for that, but why these high dollar "Race" dampners? The standard dampner would work fine if you get a new one or have the old one rebuilt. Which I hear is possible, I just don't know who does it.

Ummmm, wow....I understand everything you said, but damn...That's a lot of work with no margin for error.

I have a sinlge groove pulley with the trigger ring attached to it for my distributerless ignition from Top End Performance. I don't see what need I would have for something like that. Even in a full on race setup why would you need an adjustable dampner?

Ok, the ad read 4x100mm or 4x108mm, which neither would match. I'd have to see the mustang wheels fit a Z before I believe it. You would think that would open up a lot of wheel options for us if it were true.

They used one of the tubes to hammer a nail into wood and ran it over with what looked like a Chevy 1500 truck. Couldn't tell but you hear the gravel under it crunch but the tube held.

Not right now. I don't see it on the site. Either the prices went up or they don't show that one. I bought it at the store in Wilmington NC. I'll the Part number when I get home.

I would go with a larger 60-80 gallon compressor that's hardwired and buy a couple rolls of hose that will stretch to whereever you want to work. You'll work the hell out of the compressor using air tools for body work with that small a tank. I have an 80 gallon from Harbor freight that cost me about $350 and has the same CFM ratings. It's great. I've been running it for well over a year now for everything from body work to everyday mechanical to painting. Never failed me and I've had it running for a solid 45 minutes before because the DA Sander puts quite a load on there.

It is cool. And the glass is incredible. They beat a nail into wood with one and ran it over with a big truck and it didn't even crack. That's sweet.

Those are the wrong bolt patterns. The Z/ZX bolt pattern is 4x114.3mm

That's nothing! You ought to see what they do on Mondays!
Hahahaha.....I wish I could.

Ok maybe that was a bad example, because I get it in other forums as well, and it's so random and out of the blue I don't understand it. Some threads I've posted on before come up unable to post now. It's just odd.

My 81ZX doesn't. The EFI cooling fan comes on while it's running sometimes, but when I turn the ignition the cooling fan goes off as well.
