  1. Date: 6/23/06 Time Spent: 30 minutes Parts: - None Cost: - Guy hasn't been at the shop... got to check Monday What was done: Got a decent bit done, put beads around all the joints. Not all are the prettiest, but it got the job done . Again, we have modified the original rotisserie plans a little bit. So it is not exactly as called for. Problems: - none Pictures: I'm still sure you can figure it out High Resolution Pictures (Beware 56k) -none Link: http://www.harwoodperformance.bizland.com/1941buick/Rotisserie(rev.2).pdf Thanks for your time, Z0wner

  4. Date: 6/18/06 (Happy Father's Day) Time Spent: 30 minutes Parts: - None Cost: - Guy hasn't been at the shop... got to check Monday What was done: Yes, I feel like a gigantic chicken! Well we did not do a whole lot because it was father's day. We did tack the other side together. Now we just need to put a good bead around each of the joints. That will be done during the week Also, we need to get the round tube in there and some casters. We'll prolly get this bad boy done by the next week. Whats planned for it... finish building it, then sand blast, then paint it with steelit. Attach car and let the fun begin Wow, the 1 year mark of owning the car is approaching... I wish I had the funds to get this car finished soon! More pictures as we get farther along Problems: - none Pictures: I'm still sure you can figure it out High Resolution Pictures (Beware 56k) -none Link: http://www.harwoodperformance.bizland.com/1941buick/Rotisserie(rev.2).pdf Thanks for your time, Z0wner
  5. Start putting the junk in black plastic bags... haul it to the local trash heap... She won't be able to get it back
  6. Date: 6/17/06 Time Spent: 45 minutes Parts: - None Cost: - Guy hasn't been at the shop... got to check Monday What was done: We started welding up the rotisserie. Unfortunately, it was very windy outside... meaning some really poopy welds. We are new at welding anyway, so the wind made things only a bit worse. (haha) We did the base of one side, then it started getting way to windy! It started to really upset us, so we decided to tack weld everything together and do some actual welds when it gets nicer outside. Good thing we have a grinder! Anyway, the pictures are of one side tacked together. Lets hope it all goes well and we are able to get this done in a timely manner. We are modifying the plans of the rotisserie a little bit. The plans suggest using some plate steel as bracing, but we are thinking that this will be stout enough... especially considering it is only going to be holding a Z shell. More pictures as we get more done Problems: - Wind - Inexperience at welding Pictures: I'm sure you can figure it out High Resolution Pictures (Beware 56k): Link: http://www.harwoodperformance.bizland.com/1941buick/Rotisserie(rev.2).pdf Thanks for your time, Z0wner
  7. All righty guys... I for one do not like the fact that you didn't put "NOT WORK SAFE" on this thread or on some other threads that have been popping up that have questionable work material... Please put something in the title... seriously... some people prefer to keep their eyes off such pictures...
  8. Date: 6/14/06 Time Spent: 45 minutes Parts: - Steel Cost: - Do not know yet. He'll let us know when we are finished at his shop. What was done: The steel came in the other day, but there was not enough time to pick it up. We ended up going today and finished cutting the remainder of the steel. All that is left to purchase are some grease fittings, some casters, and some bolts. Other than that we're set. We will probably try to start welding up the main structure on the weekend, but no guarantees because it is Fathers day on Sunday. We'll hopefully have it finished fairly quick though. I'll make sure to get a lot of pictures of the rotisserie build + finished product. Again, the plans are on the bottom of the page. Problems: - Just not enough time in a day Pictures: Pile of steel (left) Cutting machine (right) [/url] High Resolution Pictures (Beware 56k): -none Link: http://www.harwoodperformance.bizland.com/1941buick/Rotisserie(rev.2).pdf Thanks for your time, Z0wner
  9. Oh, thats fine Thanks for keeping me in mind Right now, I'm waiting for some steel to come in (building an auto rotisserie) Right now my cars a rollin' chassis... so its all right Let me know when you find out something
  10. I was able to sand blast the dried oil spots in my driveway... Worked all right
  11. Date: 6/8/06 Time Spent: 65 minutes Parts: - Steel Cost: - Do not know yet. He'll let us know when we are finished at his shop. What was done: haha, we get there and he forgot to order some 3" square tubing... guess we'll have to wait till that comes in before we can start building the rotisserie. Ah well, we did get some of the steel cut and brought it on home. He was kind enough to let us use his saw... which probably made it a lot easier than using a grinder with a cutting disk. Problems: - The company 'forgot' to order some of the steel! meaning more waiting time Pictures: High Resolution Pictures (Beware 56k): -none Link: http://www.harwoodperformance.bizland.com/1941buick/Rotisserie(rev.2).pdf Thanks for your time, Z0wner
  12. Alright guys, steel came in today. The guy says he will even let me use his cutting tools! So, I'll get some pictures later
  13. The steel still isn't in... (pun intended) I'm going to have to try back tomorrow. It is starting to get on my nerves! This is the only thing from preventing the start of bodywork!

    ?

You should search... and you need a specific title... The person that knows how to fix this might not read it because it has no title!
  15. Ouch! Your title was very deceiving though
  16. Alright boys, finally got around to taking the manifold off... Overall the condition looks really nice. It just needs a bead blast and a polish. I'll be putting it up on eb@y soon and will have starting bid at 200$ (had a chat that knows what it can go for). Have a question though, does anyone know what a 390cfm carb could go for if it needs a rebuild? Its in decent condition, and was working when I had the engine going (famous last words haha) I'll end up spraying it off and was wondering what a good reserve would be. Thanks guys! really appreciate it! Click for High Res..:
  17. I'm only getting sound... It sounds pretty good
  18. Haha... NeedforZ so then they feel sorry for you and accept you with open arms The Z was never meant to remain pure... otherwise they wouldn't have included such a large engine bay
  19. Well, they do not have it running on a fuel. They have used air though... I think they said they didn't have the funds to build a fuel powered one or something or another... Right now I am calling BS but time will tell (WOULDN'T IT BE AWESOME IF IT WORKED)
