  1. Date: 5/3/06 Time Spent: 15 minutes Parts: - Blast Media x 3 bags Cost: $20 What was done: So the sandblaster was sitting in the garage with some useless media (it clogged). I decided to go find some finer media that would not clog the blaster. Well, I found some media and bought three bags. It was actually cheaper than the stuff that was clogging! So, first I decided to test it on the gokart... and, well... one thing led to another and before I knew it I was having at it with the passenger side wheel well of the Z. The feeling was great but it only lasted for a moment. I wanted more, so I decided to try blasting the battery tray area. Well, all was going good when it hits me like a brick wall. The pressurized media tank ran out of blast media. I wanted to cry because I had bags of media sitting across the garage, but I knew I needed to stop myself. I was shouting to myself in my head, "CONTROL YOURSELF! CONTROL YOURSELF!" After being possessed I was able to regain control of my body and put the blaster away. Next time I might not be as lucky! So I pickleX (ed) it and decided I could show some pics. I was extremely impressed by the results. Still haven't used the aluminum oxide; I'll be saving that for later. Problems: - NO Rotisserie! (yet) - some pits left from removed rust! (easily fixed) Pictures: New (and improved) blast media Picture of Passenger side wheel well. Essentially what driver side looked like. Overall pictures of the work (black/brown/yellowish isn't rust. It is undercoat and zinc metal/paint) Close up (battery tray on right) *NEW SECTION* Hi-Res Pictures_ this section will feature pictures that I feel you must see in high resolution to appreciate. They will be featured in both my standard format and high resolution so those without broad-band will not miss out. High Resolution Pictures: Link: NONE Thanks for your time, Z0wner

  14. I feel your pain... and this almost happened to me I being a bright guy decided to lift the rear end of a chevette... with my back to the bumper. Well, got it up a couple of times and my back burned and stung like crazy. Well next day it wasn't so bad so i continued my normal routine. I lift weights, so I was doing that. It was my back day and I was doing deadlifts with a straight bar. What a mistake. I heard a few things go pop and my back killed for the longest while. Walking hurt my lower back. Sitting hurt my lower back. So eventually I went to a chiropractor (SP... too late) and he x-rayed my back. Ended up having a bulged disk. He said had I continued lifting / etc. I would have ruptured a disc. So, about 4 months later I am still facing some problems with my back. I'll keep you in prayer, as I can only imagine how much pain you are going through.
  15. Date: 4/23/06 Time Spent: 4 hours Parts: - Clark sandblaster Unit - Spools of wire x 2 - Welder tips x 4 - Black Diamond Blast Media x 2 - Aluminum Oxide Blast Media - 75/25 shielding gas and tank - Cheap welding mask x 2 Cost: $250 What was done: Alright, been awhile since the last update. Again, not much has been done to the vehicle, but preparations are being made. We have been buying the tools and parts needed to get the actual project started. The welder was up and running for the first time today, it will take some time to actually get used to welding. Did some testing and found that there are some kinks to work out. We did try the blaster out on an old go kart though. The media kept plugging the gun so we gave up on it. We’ll try it later with the new aluminum oxide media. The aluminum oxide stuff is ridiculously expensive $25 a small container. Problems: - blast media is plugging, have not tried the aluminum oxide - have to work with the welder more, not enough practice or time under my belt Pictures: (hmm... couldn't help but to take pictures:rolleyesg:lol:) sand-blaster Welding mask The Blast media (black diamond and its results) (aluminum oxide stuff, haven't tried it yet with a size comparison) The shielding gas tank Link: NONE Thanks for your time, Z0wner
  16. Sorry, but I do not know what that is did look up the conversion numbers of yen though 150 150 Japanese yen = 1 280.3786 U.S. dollars :eek2::eek2:
  17. beautiful:shock: I really like the color and shaved rear rims are not my type, but still look pretty good (must be the z)
  18. I looked into the engine stands, and so far it doesn't seem like to bad of an option. I am looking for a welder mask. Something that isn't more than 100 dollars. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  19. This is what I hope to do with my z's rear end. as in the picture of the silver and red car... I personally prefer that look to a chrome bumper.
  20. I'm not sure if its ignorance or what, but I will probably be doing another project car after this one, which may not be a Z-car (shame, shame, but it depends on my brother). I could probably do the engine stand, but I think I would personally feel a little more safe with a actual rotisserie. Plus, I can use this little project as practice for my welder. $200 for a couple engine stands modified does not sound to bad though. If you have a link I may take a look at it. We'll have to wait before anything final is actually done. Whether to build a rotisserie or go ghetto with some engine stands.
  21. Date: 4/16/06 --HAPPY EASTER-- Time Spent: 2 hr Parts: -100' 10g wire for the welder -steel pipe for welder outlet -welder plugs: male x 1 female x 1 -wall plug -circuit breaker -50' 10g extension cable for welder Cost: $120 What was done: Again, nothing was done specifically to the vehicle. We did wire up the welder. Running cable 60ft from one side of the house to the other is a pain in the rear. Hopefully, this will be the last time. Maybe next week we I'll get a mask for the welder or buy the steel required for the rotisserie. It looks like it will cost approximately $400 for cut steel. Still looking around though. Problems: -None Pictures: Do you really want pictures of a outlet mounted on a wall? Thanks for your time, Z0wner
  22. This guy built his own car in his garage http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1587268 pretty neat
  23. I like the car... The swap But man... You don't share very much info at all, discouraging the swap for others. Which I guess from your point of view is a good thing. But, I mean, seriously this is a community and why can't some info be shared other than some blatantly obvious facts? I guess we all have our reasons, so I respect you. BTW. I really like the car, its so pretty.
