  1. I put in pretty large subframe connectors and am just bolting my sway bar through the sub frame connectors. It's the most solid part of my car now! I am using the energy, standard sway bar mounts to do it. Very easy to put together. Let me know if ya want pictures!
  2. Hi! I'm kinda in the Chicago area... I'm way NW... last stop on Metra! I am almost done with my V8Z. I am hoping to try to start it this week! Welcome to the forum!
  3. I didn't even see that on their site... guessI have to look better! Thanks!!!!
  4. Heh.. I'm just building the engine so there is no way I can do them hot! Thanks Speed Racer! That's the method I was looking for! To: jap tin.. I have aluminum heads... So I'm not sure... I'll probably go with a loose .022 and check them after I get it started the first time. Unfortunately Crane is in Florida and closed down Wednesday through next week because of the hurricane and Labor day, so I can't find out from them!!! Thanks everyone!!!
  5. Two questions for everyone... I have a Crane cam - 114681, its a solid lifter cam. It says to set the valves at .026 hot. What would be the cold setting? Next.. I know with SBCs there is an easier way of setting the valves instead of doing it by firing order. Anyone know? It's a lot diffetent when you can't see the cam! Thanks!!!
  6. Ok fine maybe I won't get it from Sallee... they want $150 for the yolk! So you used one off of a powerglide ehh..?? I guess I will try that one next!
  7. Hmmm I borrowed a 400 yolk and it does seem a bit too big... it doesn't fit through the seal... although it did point out that my seal is cracked so I am going to call Sallee chevy and see what I can get.
  8. Mine is from a 93-94 camaro and it does say Dextron II but I don't know if IV would work as well? But a Gallon , it's going to be expensive to fill! I plan to use synthetic as well. Thanks!!!
  9. Oh yeah... another question! How much Dextron II fluid does it take?
  10. The driveshaft shop I am planning to use doesn't know what yolk (sp?) to use for a 93-94 T-56 anyone know how many splines etc...? Or mabe the GM part number? Thanks!!!
  11. Thanks! I'm looking for new ones.... I want to see what's out there as far as hypereutectic or forged etc...
  12. I would like to be able to get some stock flat top pistons but I need to know what year ZX they are out of... Thanks!!
  13. Yep, I have pretty new rubber bushings on the back... I'll make sure they are compressed a bit... that may be the problem.
  14. I did think that might be the case... My only other thought is that I don't have the TC rod preloaded right.. What's the best way to do that? Tighten it until it start being difficult to move then back off a little until it's easy to move again?
  15. Yeah with 275's I would expect to have to cut them.. but these fit under my stock fenders.. so I do think I've done something wrong... you can see from my icon I did have a 240 with 16X10 slicks... I had to do a LOT of work to get those to fit!!
  16. Yeah... go to the link 280zcar posted... I wonder why my link doesn't work... first time I've tried to do that and it shows up for me! If anyone know how to fix it let me know! Thanks!! Anyway the place I am talking about is where the control arm mounts to the engine crossmember. The camber adjuster has a wide section.. I currently have it towrd the back.
  17. LOL I don't have to worry about keeping to my schedule since I have a traveling kind... it just keeps moving out as I go along! Thanks about the engine.. I love that look!! Heh... it looks a lot better in pictures than in real life! Runs in the paint... chips from banging stuff into it... I somehow just cracked my windshield ... but when I get to drive it I really doubt that any of that will come to mind!!
  18. I just added new pictures to my yahoo album, you can find the link in my signature! Well I have almost everything done! I still need to finish the front brakes, install the starter and remote oil filter, get some radiator hoses, do the exhaust and finish the wiring, and get the drive shaft built. Almost there!! I may still have it done before summer ends!
  19. I am still putting my 280Z back together, and I recent noticed that the front wheels seem farther forward than they should be. The tires (16inch 245/50) are just hitting the forward part of the front fender/air dam when I turn the wheel. So my thoughts are... fender too far back (although I can't say it would have much forward adjustment.) Possibly when I installed the camber adjustments in the control arms I have the wide end facing the wrong way, although I would think the strut bar wouldn't line up right then. Here is a pic: should the wide end (see arrow) be toward the back or the front? The only other thing I can think of is that I don't have the strut rod adjusted right... how do I make sure it is tight enough? Thanks!!!
  20. Cool! That will take care of that side.... do you happen to have a pic of where it goes into the carb? I have a bracket but can't seem to figure out how to set it up right! Thanks!!
  21. I've got the Lokar cable and bracket and wanted to see if anyone had any pictures of how to mount it.... I think I have an idea but things don't seem to line up quite right. Thanks!!!
  22. It doesn't make any difference which direction it goes? That would make it easy, that was a question I have been trying to figure out!
  23. Whoo hoo! Thanks! I can get working then!
