Did You find one yet? I actually have the older version just sitting in my garage.

This is exactly what I want, but are harnesses still "safe" attached to a bolt-in cage? Also, that looks like a Bride Zeta Type S, or an Exas III.

No idea, they are still sitting on the floor in my pile o' parts. Sorry

Just went and looked at my set, the ARP studs are "Late Model GM", ARP part number 100-7708.

Neither of you may remember me from SR20 Forum (or The Dash), but nice to see familiar names in the Z game.

5/8th bolt option for spindle pin replacement
mal_tiempo replied to hwvigo's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Are you using a lock pin/bolt at all? Worried about the bolt spinning? Also, that's good to hear. -

I forgot to subscribe to this thread, went looking for it and found a bit of discussion on this mod in this thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/116792-to-remove-spindle-pin-or-not-to-remove-spindle-pin/page-2 I think I will be taking this route if I change out my rear arms, let us know how it goes! -
Is My Ride Height Fixed?

Ah, I see. Well turns out they are around a 1/2 inch from what I see. Thanks for the info guys, I'll continue playing around with it. -
Is My Ride Height Fixed?

I have space before I am riding on the bumpstops (they were not on yet in that first picture). Struts were indeed sectioned, maybe not enough? I'm really starting to think I just need to get the entire thing redone, the perch for the threaded collar wasn't even welded all the way around :/ -
Is My Ride Height Fixed?

I wasn't actually the one who dropped the suspension for the conversion or re-installed it, so I would have to ask if procedure was followed. We did let the car settle/jumped up on it/rolled it back and forth, and it got no lower. Can I put it in the air and un-bind/re-do the tightening myself if need be? I already have the FSM, I finally got tools (for Christmas), and I'm tired of paying for work that may or may not be up to my standards... -
Hey guys, I got my coilover conversion done at a local shop, thought everything was gravy until I finally put my wheels on. Now, I didn't have my camera out while my wheels were off, so this pic from the build will have to do for now. Of course with the smaller tires I ended up getting, I wanted to lower the car a bit more (especially in the front). However, spinning the spring perch down about an inch did nothing to change the ride height (same distance from the ground, same distance from the bump stop). I'm thinking I can only go higher, and no lower. I can get a better picture this weekend if this post seems confusing. I'm not the most mechanically savvy guy, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Finally got my wheels, luckily before the end of the world Specs are: 15x8 -5 in the front, 15x9 -15 in the rear, 195/50-15 Dunlop tires all the way around, and I'm on coilovers (which I need to make a thread about because they don't appear to go any lower...) -
Rota Shakotans.... anyone running them?
mal_tiempo replied to ComicArtist's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Not exactly Shakotan related, but I picked up a staggered set of Aleicas, 15x8 -5 in the front, and 15x9 -15 in the rear. They are going on the car this week with some 195/50s. The tires are already mounted, we'll see if I need that much stretch to make the rear fit as I have a good amount of camber already dialed in. Will post pics to let you guys know how the negative offset works out. -
I was literally just about to ask if anyone had fit the 15/16x9 +15 with coilovers. Do you think the 15x9s would need spacers in the front or rear?

How many feet of that McMaster-Carr weatherstrip did you guys order?

Those look nice! You just made my mind up on my first set of wheels, because I couldn't care less about the whole "fake vs. real" debate.

Maybe a little project inspiration? As far as I know, this hasn't been done in an S30 yet. This is in a 510 sedan, SyCK's car over on Ratsun. Relatively easy to squeeze 200HP out of, and unique. I'm sort of stuck on where I want this project to go engine-wise. I have a spare L28ET, but I REALLY don't want to go turbo. I could easily swap it in for the L24 and throw the early SUs on there, but I want it rebuilt and hotter anyway. The L24 has what I think is a bad ring or two, and is a bit smokey. I mean, this is a 73, no need to keep it original, but I'd really like to keep it Nissan. Guess I should weigh the costs of each build...
