  1. 2) Is the Power Trans getting signal from the ECU? (I don't think that it should be getting warm)

This I dont know of this yet' date=' im in the process of checking that right now. However, since the harness on the ignitor, going to the ECU has 7 prongs, and one of the prongs is a ground, doesnt that mean the computer gives the ignitor chip (transistor) a positive (+) signal? thats my assumtion, someone please tell me if im wrong.

    PLEASE HELP, ANYONE![/quote']

when the engine is cranking you should be getting a reading of .2 to .3 volts at the connecter prongs, while you are gounding to the ground on the connector.

  2. I'm far from an expert here, but If all the wiring is correct I would check 2 more things;

    1) Is the Ign Relay sending power to the coils? (not the same as getting power)

    2) Is the Power Tans getting signal from the ECU? (I don't think that it should be getting warm)

If 1&2 are good I would swap out the Transistor.

But I would PM someone like Q(240Z Master) or JT.

  3. Yeah I just got a copy of Nissan Fast, it rocks!

How do I get a copy of that? As I get closer to doing this, I'm left wondering about stock replacment parts. Like oil filters, ect.... I'm also getting a Tranny from a RB25, and JT just told me that a few of the sensors are busted. Z32 sensors should bolt in, but what about other things that I would need to replace over the years, that will be stock parts. It would be nice to know that there are a few parts in the US that I can use.

  4. how did you get the rear one to poitn forward? mine points to my firewall so i have this huge looping thing that rest against my batterie

It screws in, so unscrew it put some tape on the threads, and screw it back in until it's tight & it's pointing in the right direction.

does anyone even know which way the water flows in their car's loop?

The water for the heater comes out of the tap (the one disscused above) Into the heater and back to the 3 way connector and then to the W/P inlet.

  5. Lucky for me NJ is not as tough as Cali. As long as I keep it registered as a Collector Car I can drive it up to 5K miles a yr. And there's no kind of inspection. All they do is check the Od, to make sure the miles aren't to high.

I'm planning on running a EGT Gauge, but I want'ed to make sure the ECU would still work properly with out the Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor Switching Module.

I know that if I where running a Stand Alone I could disconnect a lot of the sensors. But since I will be useing the stock one for awhile, I want to make sure it will still work.

This will be the first time that I start playing with ECU and Turbo's. I've always stuck with Carbs in my other Hi-PO upgrades.

So for now I just want to make I can get the engine running right, and then I'll bombard you guys later on the right way to "upgrade" this motor.:twak:

  6. I wanted to add a few comments to this old thread.

A BOV is deffinatly a neccesity when it comes to turbo charged motors. But should they be recirculated back to the turbos intake? Sure your going to loose the "cool" sound, but won't it help your turbo/s spool back up faster.
