  3. whe ni did a serch i found a guy that turboed a vespa seems to work ok. but there wasn't any info on it. believe me i have made up my mind. i'm puttin a tubo on it! where's the expansion chamber located on a detroit???? detroit 2 stroks have to have a blower or i do not htink they wouldn't run or at least not properly. also along with my serches some one made a kit for a banshee at one time. i don't think it's made any more

    an holset hx30 would prolly do the job. i think it's abit bigger then a t3 but not by much if it is
  5. any one have info on turbocharging a 2 stroke like a snowmobile. i have a small 340 Polaris and a ihi RBH5 i would like to utilize. i think they would make a good match. also I'm trying to be cheep on this. so what could i use as a oil scavenge pump? i found pumps but they want almost $200 for one. seems like there must be some alternative
  6. yeah the H1E is suppose to be an equivalant to a hx40 i guess the hx40 replace the h1e. i believe the stock turbo on my truck is wh1c. i was thinking of making a hybrid wh1c/h1e turbo. or a hx35w/hx40. for faster spool. thanks fro the info!

  8. the guy said the mid sections is garrett. but i think your right i don't want to be involved with it. there are 2 hx40's finially on ebay maybe if they don't go to high i would like to have one.

  11. what the differance from a gt40 and a gt4088? i found a holset hx40 with down pipe for $400 off a dodge diesel site but the guy will not respond. kinda annoying

  14. thats for the response. i found 2 on ebay. one for $399 the other $1799 what about this one?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8074019633&fromMakeTrack=true also the application is for a dodge diesel. i'm looking for alturnitaves other than the few suggeted turbo's that are all holset turbo's. i figure since all the people at the dodge diesel forum all using these holset turbo no one is expermenting with other kinds. i know this isn't a dodge diesel forum but i still get all my best info here. ANY HELP IS GREAT!! Thank you guys for any other answers in advance

  16. OHHHH, i see. no wounder i couldn't find any one ebay.. i guess the question was dumber than i thought. any other suggestions one a good cheep upgrade? FOR A DODGE DIESEL. NO jake brakes ZFURY: i'm just woundering does that zx have a v8? ur what? i have never really seen a clean 300zx v8 conversion. i have seen it done but usualy a hack job.
  17. i know this probaly sounds dumb. but where do i hook up a blow off valve? does any one have pictures of one hooked up? also i donno if it matters or not but this is going on a dodge cumming diesel i thik BOV'S are universale? also what kind should i go with? i want that high pitched whistle when it releases air. i was told some don't make that nice sound.
  18. is is rooler cam and 4 bolt main. i have a set of garret t3's and comsidered putting them on. but if i was to do so i would rather not put my carb on a container to keep it pressureized. plus i used this truck for hauling gear/and i donno if a turbo's are such a good idea fro that. maybe i'll go with a good cam as you say. would you suggest maybe having the heds milled? maybe .02 ore maybe a bit more. i can get that stuff done for free.
  19. kinda depressed to see that 295 hp i put a 750 edelbrock on with preformer RMP intake. i wanted one of those new air gap intakes. but there hasn't been any one ebay. and i got this one for $125 looked like new when i got it. believe it or not the gas milage isn't to bad compaired to the last engine i had in it. built 350. that wans't built to well i bought the truck with it. a rod broke just going down the road. i like this 454 i'm glad i swaped to a big block! no regrets! maybe next a 3208 cat or 8.2 4 stroke detroit. i have a 8.2 turbo detroit that needs a head gasket supposed to have lower hrs and stocks 300hp. scored that for $200 and it's complete minus the transmission, intercooler and radiator. whats the best up grade i can do next for my 454? i am how ever using my exhaust that was on the 350 it is a dual exhaust but souds quiet. hardly a rumble. i think it's 2" or 2-1/4?
  20. just wanted to say thanks!! for the help some of you gave me for the installation of 454 vortec going in to my 87 3/4 ton chevy. i know it wasn't a z related swap but i do appericiate the help! just to let you guy know this is a beast!!! the engine was in a fire from a 98' one ton 30,000 miles so it began life multi port injected. but i could save much more than the intake. so i converted it to a HEI ignition and 4 bbl intake and put hooker headers on she runs great!! no smoke or burns oil!!! thats always a plus! and gobs of RAW NATUARLLY ASPERATED POWER! to bad top end is about 65 but some one needs one of these in a z i havn't had her dynoed but if i had to guess 300 + hp easy imagine if she was multi port injected! even my 36" swampers can be smoked right off!! some one needs on in a z!!
  21. i have this old style power steering pump it's completely round with remote resovior. for my 454 here's my problem the has 4 lines! one fro resovior, 2 for strring and 1 for power assised brakes i been told. what can i do with tis extra line??????????? the pump brackets will not fit the other style pump. so i'm hoping i can still use this pump?? can i just block off the extra line? or what can i do with it?
  22. i was being a bit anal about this and just want a brand new unit. the money doesn't matter. i use my boat for work and can't affored to break down when the seasion starts. 1 day COULD cost me twards $2,000 i was thinking maybe some rooler rockers too? she does 40+ now if i can get over 50 i'll be happy. the boat the beat me in the lobster boat races last year was doing 46 if i can clear 53 i'll have the fastest boat-a-float for a lobster boat. the fastest was a boat called wild wild west. he had built 502 SC backed my a 2 speed power glid in a full size traditional style boat 32' long i have a 24' plining hull unlike a displacment hull of the true lobster boat style.
  23. sorry this isn't exactly a z question but it gm related my boat has a 98' mercruiser 4.3 vortec in it. and my 4bbl has a hard time kicking in sometimes. it came with a webber 4bbl it's excactly the same as a edelbrock 4bbl. any way i saw in summit racing they have a small section on boat proformance. but the smallet carb they have listed is a 600cfm. how do i know if this would be to big for my application? or just right?
  24. nope it's just a RWD tranny. i havn't heard much about them i donno if they made many or what the proformance potiential is? is it compairable to the t-5 world class?? or t-10? i'm really lost on this one. i think it's geard really high, the speedo said 160 and a friend of mine owned the car said it would do all of that.
  25. hey, hoping some one here might be able to straightne me out on this? i just aquired a maserati ZF 5 speed. 45,000 mile we took it from the car. it was a bi-turbo engine. we are looking to sell it but i havn't found any info on this transmission. i know corvette's used a ZX 6 speed. but thats about all i know. is this worth anything? does it have any proformance potential?
