  1. Irony is when chevy guys on hybridz will be considered purists
  2. Sorry. Horizontally gifted/gravitationally enhanced/cellulite dominant woman Dan: HAHAHHAHAH!
  3. lol! You accelerate more, or slam brakes more?
  4. I am at the register (all funny things happen at the register!) paying for my groceries. This overweight/pregnant woman comes up from the entrance "yeah, I bought this bread, and now it's moldy. I want to exchange it" cashier: do you have a receipt? "no" -when did you buy it? "monday last week" ...............
  5. I know *my* swap isn't legal, but hte loophole is that I'm not forced to have a smog check, and therefore, no requirement for a smog station official to look under my hood and tell me what equipment I'm missing. ie. I can't be busted for not having a cat, since 240Zs never had cats. Because I don't have to be at the smog station
  6. that's the point. force people to either upgrade to smog compliant, or make them get rid of vehicles. It's a way to get rid of old cars and reduce pollution. why do you think Smog check II was implemented? although I hope you're right about the civil law codes
  7. nope, i misread it like that the first time too they're saying that the CURRENT 29+1 year rule is being repealed with a new bill. Meaning that we'll have to smog our cars as the 30 year rule will be cancelled
  8. use http://www.angryhosting.com . best prices and service, period. cheapest plan is 500 megs space, 2 gig bandwidth, $2.50/month. My plan is 10/month for 3 gigs space, 30 gig bandwidth, unlimited domains, emails, php, sql, etc mention that auxilary hooked ya up.
  9. a hoover vaccuum http://www.enjoythedrive.com/content/?id=32931 California Emissions Exemption Repeal Bill Passes in Assembly; Moves to Senate - June 2004 Thank you for your enthusiastic response to our previous messages regarding A.B. 2683, the California legislation that would repeal the state’s current rolling emissions test exemption for vehicles 30 years old and older. As you are aware, A.B. 2683 would repeal the current pro-hobbyist exemption and replace it with a law requiring the permanent testing of all 1976 and newer model vehicles. Despite thousands of your messages in opposition, the bill passed in the California Assembly and will now be considered in the Senate. We must now focus our efforts on the Senate Transportation Committee! Call, Fax or E-mail members of the Senate Transportation Committee (List Attached) Immediately to Request Their Opposition to A.B. 2683 Our arguments are the same: Existing law in California exempts all vehicles 30 years old and older from emissions testing. California’s current emissions testing exemption recognizes the minimal impact of vehicles 30 years old and older on vehicle emissions and air quality. Vehicles 30 years old and older constitute a small portion of the overall vehicle population and are a poor source from which to look for emissions reduction. Antique and classic vehicles are overwhelmingly well-maintained and infrequently driven (about one-third the miles each year as a new vehicle). Legislators and regulators are feeling the heat from a failed effort to meet air quality goals and are looking for a convenient scapegoat. The old car hobby should not carry the burden of their mistakes! Vband clamps?

best place to get SS vband clamps? Burnsstainless has them for $80, which will be almost 100 after tax and shipping
  12. Final passenger side motormount Final driver side motormount You can see the prototype exhaust manifold I'm making on the top. It's a nuissance when I only have about 6" of space to work with, and this thing is 3" OD. Engine cleaned, new seals in place, replaced oil chain, hammerred out the dented oilpan, and stripped the engine bay for repaint. THis is the final location, frame rails have been reinforced and sleeved. The only time this motor will come out is when it's time to paint the engine bay. fuel cell complete. Thanks 73botiz for mounts and fuel cell box! Shifter position.
  13. awesome! what do you want for them? We need to sucker dan into doing another bbq when *my* car is done
  14. those are Death Race 2000 pedestrian annhialator plugs! I need to get some for my speed holes
  15. i have bumpsteer spacers. they didn't help all that much. just moved the problem elsewhere i'm pulling my crossmember out anyway, so it's getting redrilled, probably slotted so i can make adjustments
  16. jon, I've seen jumbo's LCAs in person, and I commented to him way back about the pivot point back when he'd drive his car around town. He doesn't drive it on the street, and he's not feeling the effects of the bumpsteer on the track, so does he really need to do it?
  17. not necessary for the track, because there aren't any bumps to induce bumpsteer. In fact, on track your setup is better because you have better camber gain without the bumpsteer mod.
  18. should be 30-32 psi for the street. if you take it to drags, lower pressure to about 22psi
  19. 1. it will be easier to buy a straight bodied Z instead. You'll thank yourself in the end when you see how much time and labor you've saved yourself. 2. viper motor would be interesting, but it's too wide to fit the Z if memory serves previous discussions. That, and the huge cost factor associated with it. You could build up a chevy small block to produce same power as the viper motor for a bit cheaper. IMHO
  20. there won't be that much heat transferred to the bracket. If you want to be on the safe side, go to pepboys and pick up a can of brake caliper paint for $7, they're rated to 900* F.
