  1. What happened to it? Why was it removed? RacerX
  2. I had an opportunity to drive a couple of Zcars for sale recently that both claimed had Rebello engines. The first one I drove had a L28 with "bored out" SU carbs with a mild cam and some headwork. I wasn't that impressed. The other Z had a 3.0 liter - with the same modified SU's and headwork - both cars almost seemed identical in their engine mod department - and both didn't have to many miles on their engines (20-25K) I didn't notice any difference in performance between the two. I thought I'd feel more torque with the 3.0 but didn't. Is there suppose to be that much difference in power between the two? I presumed there would be because of the increase in engine size. Anyone have any observations about this? thanks, RacerX
  3. I was browsing thru the June 2003 issue of Turbo magazine. I came across an article of a yellow Supra - I believe the article was titled "Yellow Jacket" or something to that nature. I was reading the stat sheet and it stated that the motor was a I6, aluminum block, aluminum head. Have I been misinformed all this time? I was led to believe that the 2JZ motor was an iron block and alloy head - or is the iron block on the NA motor? OR - the writer was misinformed!!!! The article never stated anything about the car having an aluminum block. That would be awesome if such an animal was available - or is it?!! RacerX
  4. I was coming out of a restaurant late the other nite and noticed a group of cars that I thought were "ricer" cars because of all the decals, ground scrapping stance and the big exhaust tips. As I walked by and took a closer look I realized they were not japanese cars at all. There was a BMW 3 series late model with a huge rear wing and a rear window visor wing, bolt on bubble flares decals all over, big exhaust tip, then a VW Golf with a cameleon paint job and stickers all over the windows, a couple of Ford Focus with 17" wheels and decals, exhaust tips, a Mercury Mystique setup similarly. My question is if japanese cars with the decals, exhaust tip etc. are labeled "ricers" then what would you label the German cars - weiners/sauerkraters? the american made cars - burgers? Just wondering! RacerX
