wow, thats a great idea for people who have the will but not the $$$ to have expencive machinery!
-
I think thats rad! id keep it just the way it is.... minus the murial on the hood
-
the chrysler turbo had a different mounting flange on the exhaust side, its a wierd offset pattern. Plus the A/R's are small for an L motor.
The stock ZXT one pictured is missing its wastgate actuator, and down pipe

Here was my experience with a SSAC header for the RB. RB is gone now, and a L28ET is going in my car. If the fitment is better, I would really be interested in the header. If I have to do this much work again.... maybe not so much

very cool, there are a few 810 owners around. I myself have been trying to find one in decent condition.

Sparks, have you guys had any issues with natural rubber seals/hoses? This is an issue ive heard from hanging with the VW diesel crowd.
(my daily is an Audi 4000 diesel)

Just search for LD28, there have been a few threads about swapping them, and general information. There is a nissan diesel forum, im sure someone will post the link to, I never have it in my favorites.

Seriously, just get the entire engine. I wish I could come across one here in Eastern NC that's complete. I wanted to try a diesel Z with MegaSquirt to see what kind of fuel mileage I could get from it.
The diesel injection system is completely mechanical, no need for a computer.

depending on what they want for the diesel fuel distribution pump, I would be interested in having a spare. I might also be interested in the injectors if they dont charge alot for those.
If the pump is under $50 id be up for it.
If the injectors are under $5 each Id be up for it.
The injectors are actually bolted on the passenger side of the head, the pump is driven off the front pully and will end up getting pulled before you pull the crank.
dont forget your 27mm to get the crank pulley off

awesome thread... can we post carbs too? There is a set of IDA's just sitting on my dads racecar
-
Has the car ever run with that fuel pump? You could try taking the fuel pump off the s130 parts car, it should be external, and easy enough to retrofit.
-
It looks like its frowning. However, that looks like a lot of work, and I have respect for it!
-
I have a spare sensor if you need it. Spare cam on the other hand, not so much.
-
Im glad you decided to work on this rather than sell it! Im still trying to find a coupe on this coast.
-
I like that it has 4 cup holders for 2 people

Ive got this 260. It has a little more rust than your looking for Im guessing. And it doesnt run. I have a spare fender and hatch. the actual part under the hatch isnt rusted. Its located in Monroe and I dont have a problem towing to everett. Id like $500 without the snowflake wheels. I dont really need to sell it, but its a way back burner project.

Yah, It was for sale when I was a little short on cash, however its not for sale now. There is one on the local CL still in a maxima for $1100 or something.
-
During the swap I made notes and diagrams that I kept in a notebook, but I have not been able to locate it after I moved to Huntsville last year. I’ll keep looking for it.
That would be awesome. It sounds like a few of us are in the midst of doing this setup.

What does that mean? LOL
10/10 means its been ground .010 on the rods journals, and the main journals.
-
Is the car in the picture yours? Did you By chance happen to get it in Ferndale?
Nope, got it from my grandparents in olympia.
-
Im sure its been discussed over @ the diesel maxima site you linked to earlier.
I have an LD sitting here with no car to put it in.... Whatever it ends up in, it will be getting a turbo.
-
Just take the springs out. Nothing ghetto about that No rubbing with stock wheels and tires....
(note, I was just pushing the car in and out of the shop like that)
-
If you need a replacement, ive got a pair I could drop off at the post office tomorrow (wed) they are off a 75.
