  1. Here is a few pics of my front bumper.
  2. Glad to see there is someone else building up a ZX. I thought that 79-80' had the bigger M/C 15/16. What are you doing for suspension? I currently have tokico shocks and springs, upgraded sway bars, front camber bushing, and all new bushings.
  3. Looking for a A/C compressor and mounting bracket for 280ZX 81-83', along with any other A/C parts for 280ZX. Thanks
  4. I have a 79' 280zx with plans for wilwood 4piston front brakes and stock rear brakes. The only thing I am doing for the rear is slotted rotors and portfield pads. I am wondering if I need to install a wilwood portioning valve and/or if there are any other modifications I need to do to the brake system?
  5. Depending on goal power level. Intercooler, injectors, bov, and boost controller should be first upgrades. Then EMS along with suspension and brake upgrades to handle the power. For turbo T3/to4e 50 trim is a good choice and if your are going to touch the manifold, then extrude hone and thermal coating. All just my opinion.
  6. I talked to rebello acouple weeks ago about at stroker motor. If I supply motor and crank they would build a 3.2 stroker all forged internals for around $7000 based off my hp requirements. For around $10,000 I would have a 400hp l28et turn key motor, if I supply parts and ems.
  7. This is finally a real muscle car. I love this commercial.
  8. Well leaving North Carolina and moving to Crestview FL. I can't wait to drive along the Gulf in my Z. Finally moving into a house with a garage. Now I need to find a good machine shop and body shop. Is there anyone who lives around Crestview?
  9. I have all black trim and tinted headlight covers. I like the look of it myself with my gunmetal wheels. All I need to do is tint my windows. On the interior I am currently trying out carbon fiber accents.
  10. All good information to know. I have not done any of your suggestions, but now I will. Learn something new everyday.
  11. What name brand springs are you using? How do you tighten down suspension without having it jacked up? Use a pit to tighten down everything.
  12. I have been driving the car and I will loosen the bolts and torque them down on the ground. Thanks
  13. I had Tokico shocks and springs installed. It looks to me that the front is riding high. I bought them for the idea that I would not have to do any adjustment, I would have a good drop in front and now it looks to me like the front is higher than the rear. What do you think?
  14. I am looking for some ideas for modifying the 280zx radio face plate. I like the idea that midnight club went with their s130. The only problem is I don't want it to look cheap. I want the whole radio console to be one flat piece so that I can mount gauges or possibly my mini fuse box. I just don't know what material to use to make the flat face plate with. Any ideas?
  15. I am currently rewiring my 280zx completely. I am using a EZ harness for the chassis. I used weather pack connectors for the chassis harness. For my engine harness I went with a megasquirt. All you need extra is 240sx TPS sensor, IAT sensor, coolant senor for turbo, you can also calibrate your stock sensors. The engine wiring is pretty straight forward and there are plenty of resources on the internet, on how to wire your engine. You just need to make sure you have relays for the fuel pump and ignition.
  16. I got the car back with spending $15,000. All that was done was the body work and engine install. Lesson learned, but time to move on. Things are looking up. Parts for the build are building so far I have the following: R200 280zx turbo differential and axles Z32 transmission Megasquirt 3.57 ECU/ boost controller/ Harness 11mm fuel rail T3/t04e 50trim turbo Spare l28et engine. Autopower Roll bar. Painless chassis harness Some good things come out of hard lessons.
  17. I called up VEI systems and had them install their digital tach, speedo, water temp, and fuel gauges. I also ordered oil temp, oil pressure, boost pressure, Innovate wide band O2 from them. The wiring is really easy and Neil at VEI is really helpful and always answers my questions very quickly. I also just purchased, from a fellow hybridz member, megasquirt ECU and look to be installing that this weekend. Didn't really plan on getting megasquirt, but couldn't pass up the deal. Lots to learn about in so little time. Also purchased EDIS-6 system, but I will wait to install that. I am currently replacing my chassis harness with a painless wiring harness (Lots of fun, not). If I am lucky, I will install my new autopower roll bar. Very busy weekend.
  18. Has anyone dealt with Lucius Turpin? He is a guy from the Blackpool, UK who emailed because I put a posting on hybridz for a 300zx L28 transmission adapter. He wanted me to send him my phone number and western union him $320 for the parts and shipping. I asked if he had a paypal account and he said his account was put on hold for not using it. I googled his name and this site pooped up. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/553850-scammers-swindlers-lately-4.html I asked him for pics and specific information, such as what parts come in the kit. He responded with "everything you need to do the swap." I received pics, but anyone can fake pics. I decided not to buy because it sounds to good to be true. What do you guys think?
  19. Looking to see if anyone has 300zx z32 transmission bell housing adapter and shifter adapter & linkage relocation kit for an L28. You can contact me at bpmacklin@yahoo.com Thanks for the help.
  20. glad to see that someone saw the reference.
  21. Here is what I have right now.
  22. I had two vent inlets added to my bumper along with extending it down a little more, about an inch. I had the inlets installed so I can mount the intake in the bumper, along with the oil cooler.
