  1. thanks nigel i actually found some more stuff in those links that helped my tune alot. however i have looked through the post youre referring to before but i havent seen and afr tables which is why im hoping to start that thread here. maybe i just missed them?
  2. im having trouble finding a good target afr table to work with on tunerstudio to use ve analyze live. its basically a stock l28et running probably 13psi with a bov. other than that its stock. if anybody has a similar setup and would like to share their target afr table that would be excellent!!
  3. no problem! glad you found something!
  4. ive got one needing rings if you feel like making it up to snohomish, wa. block, crank, flattop pistons with slight valve marks, timing cover from a 75, and oil pan from a 75. if you can make it up here ill give it to you for $30. lmk 425 315 5553
  5. this is interesting. i was considering putting the turn signals out of my 71 coronet in my z...
  6. To add to the old thread, 180k+ on our 95 northstar. Just sayin'. And they are a bit of fun!
  7. Well i ended up with an innovate brand new off ebay for 170. Sealed box and all. just got it today! came with gauge(which is the controller itself i believe?), sensor, cables, instructions, even a sticker and optional white gauge face. pretty pleased! its the 3844 mtx-afr guage kit. christmas in june!
  8. Well, if you feel like bringing one down from washington state, I've got a 78 280z with an l28et, megasquirt, lowered on 250lb springs, wideband almost here in the mail. Currently my daily driver, some issues here and there. i have a craiglist add under 280z feeler in seattle tacoma craiglist if youre interested. you can pm me or email me at thrashloafband@hotmail.com
  9. Ok, that's what i wasn't sure about. some newer Toyotas and Lexus' list the front o2 as an air fuel ratio sensor so that's why i was wondering and the fact that they're 4 wire o2s rather then single wire. I guess i don't understand the controllers function which has made my digging a little difficult. thanks for the help!
  10. I just got my 280z l28et running with megasquirt (two80zforme's old z) and i have a narrow band hooked up currently but it only reads 14.6 and 14.7 all the time, or just 28 if i'm idling and its not doing anything. So it's clearly time for a wide band as i'm not happy with the tune just yet. I don't have a lot of money right now but was wondering if you could just a factory replacement o2 from an OBD2 vehicle and wire it up to megasquirt to do data logging? I've been trying to search and find answers on this topic and I'm sorry if this has been addressed and discussed already but i haven't heard anything about it. basically, if i just want the o2 for tuning purposes with megatune or tunerstudio, do i really need a 200 wide band kit? or can i wire a $45 b1s1 replacement o2 from a 96 or up vehicle which i can get wholesale from my work?
  11. Got some valves, post can be deleted. Thanks.
  12. Hi,I'm looking for a good runnable p90a to buy in the puget sound area. I have a 280z with a p79 that just bent some valves and after looking around for some, it might be cheaper to just get another head and since it's a turbo now, a p90a would be preferred. Email me if you've got one i could slap on without doing a whole lot of work to. It's my daily driver so the sooner the better thanks! danerz112@hotmail.com Dane
  13. HELP!!! im in snohomish (clearview to be exact) and i just traded for two80z4me's 280z with megasquirt 2 and neither of us have been able to get the ecu to communicate.. i just redid the whole engine harness ive tried some other troubleshooting things as well, but at this point, i either need a stim to test the ecu out, or an ecu to see if the car will run if i just buck up and replace the megasquirt ecu.. i dont know if it got fried somehow or if i just haveent found some normal problem... no idea. ive tried 2 serial/usb cables, two usb ports, both of which pasted the port check, just "no connection made". car turns over but will not fire.. ecu shows 12v at pin 28 on the db37, and 5v at db9 so it appears to be getting power, just not communicating. i couldnt even reflash it cause it wont talk... anyway i traded my dd and have been borrowing my moms car to get to work every day so the sooner i can diagnose the problem the better! anyway thanks for everyones help!!! let me know if you have either an ecu, a stim, or a test car set up with megasquirt 2 thanks! dane four two five, three one five, five five five three

  18. sorry this is long and rambles.. this ones theoretical cause i havent gotten this far but im thinking about doing my own dash because i have eletrical problems that seem unending and i personally see it easier to write my own diagrams seperating all the systems out so they no longer entangle other systems when they have problems.. anyhoo my point was that in this process i decided that if the means are there id like to do a homemade metal dash and just do toggle switches for everything... so heres the thrifty/neat part.. for the dash lights, im doing away with the combo switch and just wiring an on off toggle so i thought hey, i could use a volume pot (potentiometer) from a guitar (tone knob should be same) as a dimmer right? might look kinda cool on the metal dash too i think... btw im trying to build a challenger right now (not like i have money) and i have a complete 71 coronet 4 door driver that i got for 850 with a factory 383. although this is the wrong website for such a car, it kinda follows suit if any of you are also mopar guys. basically the only things i need to buy to make a roller challenger a driver is this $850 four door and a different driveshaft.. and i found discs for $100 but thats kinda optional i guess.. i think even the windshields are the same! oh the power of prayer! and just as a final note... i think the reason im begining to like zs more than mopars is the community that comes with. see theres tons of datsun guys that are thrifty and make things work just like me and arent afraid to take an already sweet car and make it AWSOME! and challenger guys seem to only restore cars and never drive them to the point where the praised thriftiness of this thread seems rather frowned upon on mopar forums... GO DATSUN!!!
  19. been dead for a while... but did you get to finish it? its phenominal and super inspiring if only i had money.. any full car pics?
  20. really hope you didnt sell it.. your son is gonna kill you in the future if he finds out you did. im a son. and i would be very upset if my dad was building such an awsome z as this whilst i too was being built and then sold it.. if hes anything like you he'll love the z when he gets older right?
