  3. I love Dilbert, the comic and the short lived tv series; purchasing the whole series was well worth the small amount of money it cost me
  4. basically what im trying to do is get the return springs someplace other than where they currently which is the "flat" portion of the stock air box, hence my asking the length of sping when in place.

  6. Due to a previous owner removing the stock heat shield and it not making its way to me, I must replace it. Since i will be working around an aftermarket header I will be making it myself. The questions I have are what thickness of metal should I use, and also could anyone tell me the length of the spring on their SU carbs that connect to the stock heat shield when it is connected That is length when attached correctly to the stock location.

  10. I recently purchased a 72 240z as far as I know its stock, now I know it has a couple of small oil leaks (oil pan and front cover), when its below say 55 degrees outside the car will not start. It tries and I can hear the crank turning but it wont fire and start, I have managed to kill the battery once trying to start the car. Personally i think its a spark issue but as this my first Z and I'm not all that experianced yet I'm not all that sure. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try to get it to start when its cold? i have been searching and havent found anything that helped me yet though i wouldnt be surpirsed if i was just searching the wrong terms
  11. It was an estimate, he couldn't find anyone who sells steering racks so i pulled out the black dragon auto catalog i brought along just in case. I will be ordering a steering rack from them for $350 I figured that that would be alot easier on my wallet. total things i have to fix thus far: replace door and hatch seals, replace oil pan gasket and remove one small dent in the flange of the pan, replace gasket on the cover that sites behind the main pulley from the crank, oil change, tune up, address issue with left headlight being dim. The headlight issue is being addressed tommorow morning and the parts i need to deal with the others shall be ordered tommorow. I am so very glad its the busy season at work and I will be on alot of overtime pay
  12. I didnt have a chance to get pictures I had to take it in to the shop already the steering rack on the drivers side has serious issues that will cost me $900 to have the shop attempt to fix. I'm ordering a new steering rack tommorow.

  16. you would end up with a fair amount of sugar crystals if you didnt move the solution around much there wouldnt be all that many and they would end up larger. your best bet would be to let it cool in a stand mixer set to low you should also might want to run it through a mesh strainer to remove any large chunks that might clog their hose
