  1. Here's a link to my gallery, shot of Ben my 2 1/2 German Shepard on a road trip in North Wales last summer. Yes that is one big hair ball:mrgreen: Nigel http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=8719&cat=500&ppuser=16584
  2. Hi You’ve got my undivided attention, any chance of some piccy's and fitting experiences that you could share with me, I’ve just failed to fit a 280zx unit into my 260, the Wife won’t race it without the ‘comfort’ of PAS, so I’m eager to please if you know what I mean:mrgreen:. Cheers Nigel
  3. Hi I used a Subaru rack in my 2+2? __________________ EvilChuckie:twisted: Hi I'm listening........ not found a thead for a scooby rack, make/model/year? Please. I'm looking at the electronic unit from a Vauxhall (holden to yourself) Corsa. Hi I'm also llistening to yourself; reason for PAS is the Wife really wants to drive it and enter some events with it but struggles against the powerless rack having been brought up with only PAS cars, could get her on a weightlifting session or two, but then she'd just hit me harder:) Cheers for the input guy's, it's why I like the Hybrid site, nothings really impossible. Nigel
  4. Hi Guys If your interested I started a thread on the Uk Z club site for my conversion to a Subaru VLSD. http://www.zclub.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9013 Only bit of hind sight would be to get the diff stub shafts made up with UJ flanges and run the original Datsun shafts instead of making a whole new shaft with a CV end and a UJ end. Just another for the melting pot; by the way the new diff ratio worked so good it took 10 seconds off last years fastest time up our hillclimb course, but as I was enjoying the ride so much I forgot to hold the boost back and the rest as they say is history:cry:. New L28 build progressing. Cheers Nigel
  5. Welders mole grips, all shapes and sizes just hold it all in place whilst you stick it together with that other fine invention...........the mig welder:2thumbs: not forgetting the light reactive welding head screen, top bit of kit. Cheers Nigel
  6. Hi folks Some pictures of the SLOW progress I'm making, only excuse is I've now turned 40, so it's time to slow down (not) Rear disc conversion 50% complete, using 280zx rear calipers and new discs. (full set of brake springs, working wheel cylinders, handbrake levers and powder coated drums now going up for grabs on ebay UK by next weekend. Crank fitted to block and end float checked at 0.003" total, so well withing tolerance. Sneaky little shot of the engine in me 'DEN'. Head built up with cam installed and gapped. Currently ringing the pistons, they will get popped in soon enough, still loads of 'little' jobs to do that take so much time got all the new ECU sensors to fit'find homes for (air, water, map, crank, throttle pot, clutch, speed, intercooler cooling etc); going to change fuel supply line from 5/16 up to 3/8. Just drilled and tapped the exhaust manifold and fitted the lambda sensor, so thats one job done, it's nice working nights when the job's quiet, you really can get your jobs done you just can't do a good firm for enough:) On a negative note I can confirm that a 280ZX power rack WILL NOT fit in a 260, the only thing that my have worked was to use the 280 Xmember, but I shy'd away from upsetting the geometry. Enjoy the piccy's. Nige
  7. Well try my gallery on www.zclub.net , if this link below doesn't work then I've got the same user ID on the UK club site as here (evtech) Gallery link http://www.zclub.net/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=1970 Will get some photos of my new build as the work progresses, just got to get my 40th birthday bash :)and trip to Dublin :)out of the way this weekend and then it's all hands to the pump. Cheers Nigel
  8. Bought mine a couple of years ago, ran some hillclimbs late last year but blew the L26 up in April 07, got an L28 in build currently going with some +1mm's (Stateside as it happens, Detroit) keeping the T3 hybrid blower passing it through a monster TB (76mm) with some 480cc injectors and an Emerald 3D ECU. Post up some progress piccys later, but the attached are links to old shots from last year. Nigel
  9. Reasonably enough a true statement. The Japs used some interesting sizes like 14mm in suspension bolts, and even today most jap motorbike engines carry fasteners that nobody keeps, but metric has a good foot hold here today, although it'll take it some time to break into the heart of my industry (coal fired power station built in the 60's, whitworth rules:D ) Happy tapping Nigel
  10. Hi Mine were 5/16th UNC that's an 18 teeth per inch pitch. 1977 260 2+2. Hope that helps:icon6: Nigel
