  1. Your soul is worth £15136. For your peace of mind, 61% of people have a purer soul than you. hmm... Methinks those questions were loaded .... mwahaha Joe
  2. Yeah, alright. I guess i am just getting a bit stir crazy out here. I need to get a different transmission, and i know that i wont have enough cash until after the snow comes and goes. I dont think that my current setup would even make it to a track... heh... I am fully aware of the dangers of racing on the streets, but we all have done it, dangerous or not. I will take it to a track and race my friend in the 1/4...I'll probably have a better chance of beating him anyhow... joe.
  3. The road we are planning on is deserted. aux... once ive got my transmission setup and flushed... i think i will be able to put much more power down, also, when you rode in my car, i had not yet tuned the carb, it is making gobs more power. We decided against racing tonight. The time has to be perfect, low wind, 2-3 am... I dont think that i will lose... And the passerby scenario is impossible. I just really want to drive my Z, and since i cannot daily drive it right now, the only thing for me is to take it out for like 15 minutes at a time. I havent driven it in over 2 weeks!!!! I think that the boredom of this town is getting to me... and these classes are way too easy... which is good, i have good grades. uh, yeah, it is almost 7 am, i need to sleep, i have class at 4:30 PM to 1:40 AM.... night, Joe
  4. Hello, I have a buddy in my class that owns a 2001 camaro ss, automatic tranny, 3.23 rear end.... basically stock. I challenged him in a race up to 150 mph. We were supposed to race last night, but he chickened out. I'm going to make sure to get him tonight though. he showed me the place that we are going to race at, it is a straight section of road, about 4-5 miles long. it is going to be a lot of fun. I think i am going to try to get a guy that owns a 5.0 mustang to race too. So my friend can at least beat him. My buddy jumped on it to about 110 last night. Then he asked if i thought i was going to beat him... heh, I smiled and told him that i am pretty sure that i will beat him pretty badly. His car rides alot smoother, so maybe it that is alot of the reason why it felt slow. I guess i will find out soon.... MWAHAHAH i get to drive me z again soon! Joe
  5. just make sure to use some nice fresh gas, check for spark, fuel flow. then you may want to do a voltage drop test on the starter motor terminal while it is cranking, if you read under 9 volts. you may want to deep cycle charge your battery or replace it. 12.35 volts is a very acceptable voltage reading, you generally wont have a problem starting until the battery drops to about 10.5 v. if you can get a use of a battery load tester, or a midtronics, then you can test you battery easily, and amperage draw during starting. but, from what i know, if the engine runs well for 30 seconds, and then sputters and dies... it's a fuel issue. Joe
  6. mike, I apologize for being so blunt... i was pretty cranky last night. it was my first day at Wyotech, and i had to listen to a bunch of kids who were incessantly moaning about how much they didnt want to be there. I didnt mean to take it out on you man. Have fun in texas... you may end up with whiplash from looking at the all them fine women, so be careful . joe.
  7. mwahahahaha... lol yes, eliminators/executioners, same deal. what i was saying is that race "cleansing" and the entire idea of it is a very dangerous proposition. and for the record, i used no-one's name, therefore, what i said was an in general comment, no personal attacks. Joe.
  8. I can barely see what i'm typing! too funny. Joe
  9. wah wah wah. There is a reason that we never discuss religion on this board. and it is the same reason that church is removed from state. When you discuss religion, reason is non-existent, and blindness prevails. DUH!!!! DUH DUH DUH. and the only people that will say that i am wrong, are the religious. because agreeing with me may somehow lessen your faith. blah blah blah blah. Anyhow. Child abusers, murderers, and people who steal when they do not have to will always exist, no matter how hard you try to eliminate them. Becuause the eliminators become the murderers. I am all for execution though... For all the people who think that execution is murder, You should ask them if they would like to have a bunch of death row inmates over for dinner, maybe they could live with them, kill them in thier sleep to steal some jewelry and the family car. joe
  10. Yeah buddy! The Z invariably has more character than most, if not all newer cars. Aftermarket support is much lower, therefore, if you want it, you have to build it. and if you build it then it will always be a bit different than the other guy's. Then again, most of the people here are not your average Z driver. Like yogi bear. Joe
  11. well, i am glad that you got it sorted. when i said entire rear end, i MEANT it buddy, tires and all. I dont want to be mean, and i dont want to make an enemy of anyone, but whining gets old REAL fast. If you had a problem, there are ways to express yourself that do not include making yourself out to be the victim, even if you ARE! the title, "I'm totally F#cked" is a bit more than very melodramatic. I'm not trying to lecture, and if you get all pissed at me... so be it. you could even tell me that if i dont like your posts, then by golly, my "bumpkin know-it all butt" can just piss off and not bother to read them. But above all other things that i hold true in life, I know for a fact that the attitude you put forth from time to time, will get you no more than a pat on the head from a very kind person, and a cold shoulder from the indifferent, but both will not feel like dealing with you. Old guy: Life is what you make it, it does not suck by default, shit may not always be fair, but that is life. I think that is what you were getting at anyway, but i just feel that pessimism breeds more of the like. And yes, i have bitched and moaned with the best of them, I am not saying that i am any better than anyone. Just telling it hows i sees it. Joe
  12. Take a deep breath. Think of parts that you have bought locally that are still in their boxes with reciepts. If they are not neccessary, take them back. then go to a junkyard and pick up an entire rear suspension. It should only take about a half hour of work to drop it and get it out. take it home, and you should be able to have wheels on the car in a couple of hours. I paid a total of $100 for an entire rear suspension setup for my Z. and i had it on the road the same day. For every problem, there IS a solution. Tell your pops to calm down. So, your setup will not work at all? Even if it rides low, you can still put it on a trailer. never give up, never surrender. Good luck man, Joe

    Ahem.

    MWAHAHAHAHAAHA That is awesome. Joe.
  14. PINK FLOYD! the best music for cruisin around. Silverchair is also a good cruise music choice. Alice in chains is good any time. There is too much good music out there for me to list. so, i'm done. Joe
  15. That first drive in your newly converted V8 Z is just like losing your virginity! Massive apprehension, palms sweating like niagra falls, but once you hit it, you never forget it. Congratulations, from here on out, everything is going to get better and easier. (At least with your Z!) V8Zer for life, Joe

    New Pics!

AWESOME. That looks super clean man, good work. have fun with it, Joe
  17. thanks for the encouraging words guys. I plan on going to school with a brain saw and a spoon, and devouring as much knowledge as possible. I'm going to miss my Z this winter, it has to sit all alone in the dark and cold storage unit... it must think that it is in solitary confinement! I know it's just a car, but by golly, if it doesnt have a personality to it, then neither do I! I have to wait until about 2 AM to go to sleep tonight, so i can wake up around noon to get to class at 4:30 pm... and then stay until 1:40 AM.... Yeehaw! Joe
  18. hey bigwhytedude, I'll trade you a pretty beat up impulse for your setup. One of my friend's buddies wanted me to fix it, so i did, but then he wouldnt pay for the parts, so it became mine. It has a brand new solenoid, and gaskets. It is really ugly, but i am 99% sure that it will work. If you are interested, PM me, and i will send photos.... thanks Joe
  19. hello! I hate to nit pick... but what exactly does "smog" smell like? Is the smoke coming from your exaust white, black, or bluish? If it is white, then you are burning water/coolant, black smoke means that it is running rich, and bluish smoke means that you are burning oil. also, You do not want to run high octane fuel in an engine that does not require it. Octane is basically a measure of the fuel's resistance to detonation, which means that the fuel ignites at a higher temperature/compression. good luck man, Joe
  20. Hello everyone, I'm finally all moved and set up in Laramie Wyoming, lots of fun... The Z runs horrible at this elevation, I'm now searching for a fuel injection setup, and a 5 speed manual. Tomorrow i register for school, and i start classes on monday. Wyotech baby! My truck made the trip fine, luckily... it was a really long haul on highway 80. 1000 miles, and some of the biggest hills i have ever seen. I had to get down to 2nd gear coming out of salt lake city, i thought the truck was going to start rolling backwards! Its pretty cold here, though i havent seen anything yet... the snow has yet to come thankfully. The Z is all set up in it's storage space, waiting for my custolm fab and high performance engine courses. It's good to be back, Joe
  21. Hey tim, isnt pete's conversion even more fish story style? I though it was 16 years? lol... I am about to start my drive to wyoming... Fun fun fun, I am keeping my fingers crossed... i just bought this truck, and had to get seals replaced in the transmission and transfer case... grrr... I too am going to have to find a nice warm and dry spot for my Z to live this winter... i dont want to drive it in snow. It's only 1107 miles. Gotta go check the trailer again, Joe.
  22. take his license. and castrate him! I think that that is one person that is better left sunbathing far away from the gene pool. If we castrated the idiots... the world would be a better place. besides, how "tuff" can a guy be with no balls? exactly. Joe
  23. i got pretty disoriented after reading the first 6 words.... I still understood it. typing all whacked out like that isnt easy though.... i guess that is how people get by without learning how to read... joe
  24. I knew it!!! heh...you think the prez' would be careful not to pose like that.
  25. Oh, My sorta stepdad drove it after i did, he slammed on the brakes pretty good, because you just need to know what you have. The rears locked, and the left front. but it stopped in about 2 feet from about 17 mph. I am going to give the brakes a look though anyhow. It is a really big truck... I have driven much bigger, but, it still rates up there next to my 68, and my boss's 2500HD dodge i drove quite a bit. And another V8 enters the family MWAHAHAHAHA Joe
