  1. Mine is in my sig. Marc's Garage = http://www.kinexions.net/velorossa Hasn't been updated in quite a while...
  2. Did the same on mine. Knock the spacer off the bottom of your Tokico cartridge (pops right off), measure the difference in height between the Tokico and the stock instert and section your struts by that amount. Be careful not to section by any more than that amount. Can't help on where to get them welded. I did my own. I'm probably taking somewhat of a chance on my welding skills. I bought my welder for my Velo Rossa project and did a lot of practicing. I did my own sub-frame connectors, floor pan sections, etc. and feel pretty comforable welding now. But, I was a little leery about welding my own struts.
  3. Looking good, Tim! Where did you pick up the material for your custom grill?
  4. There is nothing I am aware of to mate or plug into the existing Datsun harness. You can buy complete wiring harnesses from Painless or Centec and there are others too. Lot's of guys have built their own harnesses and saved some serious $ over the pre-made kits. Tim240Z did a nice job building his own fuse block as well as his own harness. I believe there are some pics on his site.
  5. Sweet deal. I had no idea you could get cable broadband from anyone other than your cable provider. I gotta file that one away...
  6. Tim - I've been on DSL for the last 2 years, but for several years previous to that, I was on AT&T dial-up (http://www.att.net) and was very happy with it. I've used MSN (sucked), AOL (really sucked) and Free Alta Vista (doesn't exist anymore). The free services stick you with pop-ups that kill your bandwidth. At $16.95/mo. unlimited, ATT is in the middle of the road from a price perspective, but the service was always good, plenty of access numbers and I know they have won awards for their service. If I ever move to an area w/o DSL, I wouldn't hesitate before signing-up again for AT&T.
  7. I wonder if this would be better served by creating FAQs on the various subjects and putting them in a single FAQ forum or page. I agree that it would be very helpful, especially to new members. But, I'm not crazy about having a lot of sticky posts at the top of each forum. After a while, I find them to be kind of annoying. Just my humble $.02
  8. Congrats! Now you have enough for a full pit-crew.
  9. Yup. Me too. All is well in Z Land again...
  10. Robert - Yeah, I called the guys at ZBarn and got the same info. I did a search on this forum, but couldn't find any decisive data. In any case, it looks like they will interchange. I sent you an email earlier. Take a look, and let's talk trade...
  11. We better take up a fund to buy Ross a laptop and cell phone for all future vacations. We can't have him just taking time off to relax when he provides such a critical service! How dare he take time off when we have Z's to get on the road.
  12. Does anyone know the difference between 240/260 cross-members and 280 cross-members? They are different part numbers in the Victoria British catalog. I need one for my 240. One of our members has several laying about, but we need to identify them. Ideas?
  13. Has anyone heard from Ross in the last 2 weeks? I've placed an order on his site and emailed him a couple of times, but haven't heard a word from him. This is like a total emergency! (not) I'm ready to put my rear suspension back together and need (want) a set of his 5 lug hubs. Ross: My apologies if you're on vacation...
  14. Is this what you guys were looking for? Energy Suspension bushing list
  15. I've got the full install kit still in the box. I'll go find it, scan the sheet and post later.
  16. Nice job! I've alway wanted an old CJ.
  17. Quit teasing us Dan. We need pics! 8)
  18. Al - I have a little boy myself and can't imagine how you must feel. It's a no-brainer that the Z is way down the priority list. Cars can be replaced. It sounds like the prognosis is good for your son. I hope all goes well and that you'll hang around the board and share your expertise even if you don't have the Z in the garage. I know that most of us on the board are willing to help out a fellow Hybrid'er anytime. Don't hesitate to ask. I know that there are several of us in the Portland/Vancouver area willing to lend a hand if you need anything. Great idea on the Paypal acct. I'm in!
  19. Well, I was told it was out of a Ram Air Firebird. Should be an M29 then. Thanks for the info.
  20. Dan - Did you happen to read if there is a way to differentiate them via their serial numbers? I'm not sure which one I have and it would be nice to know for sure. Thanks!

    T-56 compatability Q

What is your T56 out of? There are two versions that were in the F body cars. The first version was mated to the LT1 from '93 to '97. The second version was mated to the LS1 from '98 - on. I believe the later version has a longer input shaft. I don't have the specifics here with me at work. The older (LT1) version should bolt right up to the '84 and up single piece rear main blocks like yours. It sounds like you may have the newer (LS1) version. You other T56 owners chime in anytime. I may have my facts crossed-up. If I am correct (it happens once in a while), I'm not sure if anyone makes an adaptor. You may need to swap your tranny out for the earlier model T56. There are adaptor bell housings to mate the earlier T56 to older 2-piece rear main blocks, but I haven't run across any for this particular application.
  22. The gland nuts are a real pain in the a$$ to remove. I put 'em in a bench vice. I used plenty of penetrating oil, great amounts of heat from a propane torch, a three foot breaker bar, and a lot of four letter words when removing mine. I believe it was the judicious use of foul language that finally persuaded the nuts to loosen up.
  23. If anyone else is interested, I posted the Ground Control installation sheet on my website here: http://www.kinexions.net/velorossa/gallery/ Keep clicking on the images of the scan to get the full-size version (almost 2Mb) Thanks, Jaime
  24. I don't remember his eBay seller's handle, but I'll PM you with his real name and contact info. Nice guy. Seemed honest. And was understanding about my mistake. I will caution, however, that I have not actually driven the car with this tranny yet. The car is still "under development..."
  25. Yup. It's true that the T56 for the LS1 is different than that for the LT1. I made that mistake when I bought my first T56 on eBay. Fortunately, the seller was a tranny rebuilder and let me exchange for the correct version.
