  1. From what I know, porting is kind of a waste of money if your doing a budget build. You can gain alot more power by investing what you would have paid for porting in your IC, turbo, or EFI. From some of the stickies it seems like the cam will be fine up to the power goal you mentioned, but I cant give any exact numbers if your wanting to go aftermarket. By itself the n42 with dish pistons and a turbo will be a little high on compression. Im not sure what is best, cheapest, but you might consider getting a p90, or even lower compression pistons? All this is from what Ive read/researched and will be considering it in my build, so as Reading Rainbow said, "But dont take my word for it." Id go read and search some more.
  2. Its insane what they charge for 16/17 year old males. I got my license a year ago and it was $100 some a month for full coverage. Now for no reason it went up 30%!! For no reason, just a rate change. And thats for a driver without tickets, good grades, and less vehicles than drivers.
  3. Thats why Ill be getting my car appraised when I insure it. For more than book value.

  6. Heres the shocktowers/wheel wells in and the rear carpet just sitting there. Well it turns out the manufcaturer must have made a mistake with the wheel well piece so I shipped out the replacements they had sent along with the stock vinyl pieces so they can remake them. Its taken longer than Ive liked and now Ill have to mess with ripping out the old wheel well pieces... But their customer services has been good. They were willing to fix it.
  7. I wish, it was fun actually working on a car but Ive got to way to much homework. I actually shouldnt be typing this... back to calculus.. And my friend is dropping off the motor around 3:30-4:00 so I have to be at home.
  8. I understand, my radiator sticks out like a soar thumb, aluminum radiator would look nice. But also, if your running a intercooler it really wont show. (depending on size)
  9. Might work on using the stock radiator more efficiently. If you look for Proxlaumus' radiator block off thread youll find it really helped his motor stay cool. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122197 Havent had my car on the road so I cant say it worked for sure, although it should...

  11. That would be a good idea... I just recieved my MSA dash cap and I like the texture and will be leaving it, but it would be pretty simple to have the dash cap covered while its off.
  12. Thats too bad. From what Ive read the cams were *somewhat* custom... What do you have to do to replace them?

  15. Thanks, yeah I know the heads are interchangeable, but Im going to be using the turbo block (f54) with the turbo head (p90a).
  16. I had gotten a spare n42 block and head and bought a set of nissan headbolts, and a set of new bearings. Now Ive got myself a f54/p90a and these spare parts (headbolts/bearings) laying around. Would I be able to use them? Im kind of doubtful but thought Id check before I sell them.
  17. Thanks, yeah I noticed the downpipe was missing, no one will miss it.
