  1. So my z has a production date of 12/72 on the door jam vin plate. I was laying upside down removing the tach wing nuts when I noticed the dash had a date stamped on it which read 12/25/72. Could this be the date my car rolled off the assembly line? Anyone else find a date under their dash somewhere?
  2. Not sure yet, speedhut sells speedos that read off gps but I don't like the idea of running two different looking gauges and not sure if they can be fitted into the stock housing like the autometers. I didn't have a working speedo with my last rb and it didn't bother me. You tend to pay more attention to the drive rather than constantly checking if your following the rules haha. The cops are pretty low key in my area too.
  3. Retrofitted the 5" autometer tach in the stock housing. Pretty smooth install. I wanted a close to stock look so went with the GT series and I'm really happy with it. I'll be getting the speedo to match eventually.

  7. I plan on staying with the stock tb and intake manifold for a while. ITB's are definately out of my budget at the moment but I love the idea of it. winstonusmc has a really nice itb set-up on his rb25de.
  8. Extractors came in today, will need a fresh coat of paint, or maybe header wrap them?

  11. Looks so much cleaner than before! Couldn't do it without the true gurus like yourself!
  12. I bought an msa unit back in 2008. Over the course of a couple years it started to split in the top middle gauge area. My z was always garaged and weekend driven. Although at the time my garage was an apartment single garage that got pretty hot in the summer..
  13. I figured it was me just not connecting the dots!
  14. Good to hear. Thanks for the link I might just go with a new set.
  15. I've been searching the web for hours and hit a road block. I recently bought an R200 diff out of a 82 280zx n/a 2+2. It's come time for me to source the stub axles so I can bolt up the 280z half shafts. I did a spline count and came up with 29. From what I've read the 240's have 25 and the 260/280's have 27. Everything I've seen related to a 29 spline count is LSD related. What's going on here? All the write ups I've read say the 280z stub axles will swap right over. Am I missing something here?
  16. The Devils Rejects, when they go to Charlies Frontier Fun Town there's a silver 240z series 1 as you can spot the hatch vents.
  17. I still have it, plan on putting it back on. I need to revise some of the mounting points.
  18. The 3.3 ratio R180 diff is going to give the car terribly long gears so I picked up this R200 w/ half shafts from an 82 ZX n/a with a 3.9 ratio, just need to collect up the other bits needed for the swap. Gave it a coat of POR15 and will eventually shine the cover up some too. R200 Mustache Bar with Poly Bushings, powdercoated lime green (not by me!)
  19. Nice. Yeah it's most likely a Coby knock off. To get the last one to fit I had to cut about 6-8 inches off the end and cut a small piece of the motor mount off. Then I was using different motor mounts which didn't have the motor as far back as it will be with the Mckinney mounts. I'm hoping that means a better fit for the header this time around but I'm betting I will still have to shorten it up.

  23. The only one I can find that isn't 600 + is this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261244814957?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It looks like the one I had before which barely fit.
