I think this topic is moot. Just a place where dreams come to die
Yep sadly it is.
-
Yes itzgoten I was asking you, thank you for the honest answer I was wondering about that setup and what I could be doing under 1500 $ for a diff swap since a R230 is over that much for me in canada at least.
-
Sorry to bring this back up but does it hold now?
-
it seems like the same cutting needed for zg's.
-
Thanks Prox ! I didnt know they had a how to.
-
Hi I was just wondering how those that have a IMSA wide body how did you intall the rear quaters ? Did you cut the existing ones or did you trim like the ZG flares or did you leave it as is ? Thank you and I would love to see some pictures.
-
If it turns the right way then your first step is good driving it will be another step towards knowing if it will work.
-
Thank you 71s30 it was usefull to have some inputs !
-

I used it on one of my rifle, but i dont see it happening on an exhaust since its constent heat. Best bet would be to email cerakote.

After having replaced all my hardlines with braided and heat wrapped ones I WOULD NEVER DO IT AGAIN. Keep the OEM hard lines on there.
Wow thanks I still have them on anyway.

Thank you very much ! I was looking at this idea but Mc Kinney motorsports answered my call for help and made me realise I was using the wrong kind of bolts. Ill update on this when i get my new turbo studs.
-
No power steering and wide tires will make it harder to turn yes on stock size or lets say 215 it shouldnt be a problem.
-
They fit very well but please use the search function I will not be the last to say it. You are a very new member so read the forums rules amd you will pass a better time on these forums a make freinds faster. Because if you just ask without search no one will answer.

Thanks !

Then I did a couple rust repair but i kept on finding more and more and it made take a break form the search before i could find the mother load i was scared to find. I received my Mc Kinney mounts and Pat1 made me one of his amazing piece of art ! I paint the valve covers got bumpers and did a mild polish of my turbo manifolds.
A peice of heaven came in the mail !
the bumpers
the painted VC
McK's Mounts
I cleaned up the engine bay to removed all the brackets and the battery tray
The polishing i did
Then i polished my intake plenum What a PITA job it was ! but love the finished results
I installed the peice of heaven on the RB to make it more holy !
Found some nasty peices of metal in the old pan probably somethinged happend the this engine before because the seller told me it had a rebuild done and a bottom parts refresh. Their are the peices found.
I dont like that at all but hey ill keep going for now on closer inpsection didnt inside when i was installing the pan everything was mint up their.
Turbo arrived in the mail !
Then I did more body repairs and fell into the bottomless pit of the while your at it !
I decided after founding yet again more rust to call in the special forces ! I brought the car to a sandblast shop in my village. So i stripped her naked in a hurry every bolts and nuts ! here she is in all her naked glory ready to leave for the special forces head quaters Oorah !
When she was gone i cleaned up the place it was a cluster **** of dust ,debris and parts. went to bbot camp to take pictures of the woopin.
Quite a woopin it was ! then i had them fix the misc. holes left and the old guy their loved the zed so much he didnt some extra body work for free !!!!
Then i had the car sprayed with POR15 ! sorry for the dusty cam. lense.
Then got a Z32 5 speed tranny and did the bellhousing swap (no pics of that). All the way up to now i did recently a couple weeks of body sealer another one of those PITA jobs !
Put the crossmember back in and rear suspension to.
This week recieved the MSA gasket kit and i did my firewall insulation.
And thats up to today ! Ill keep posting in when stuff gets done ! hope you enjoyed this. Thanks for reading and watching !

The engine was suppose to have this ! but didnt have a couple of the advertised bits I worked it out with the seller and this is what it had in reality
According to the seller:
HKS Twin turbo kit GT2530 or equivalent
Tomei cams
Tomei gears
Tomei Headgasket
Bottom end refreshed
N1 oil pump
N1 waterpump
New coil pack and new ingnition harness
What I got for realz
R34 N1 Nur turbos
Unknown cams probly stock
Tomie gears
Tomei Gasket is still a mystery if its their or not
N1 oil pump
N1 water pump
Coil pack and harness was brand new in a bag !
Nismo FPR
534cc injectors
HKS inlet pipes
.
Anyway I had to strip some of it down for inspectin and prep for the swap. I found a nasty problem right away the first weekend. The front turbo inlet had a ... lets say special pitch to its impeller
It was "modified" by a rag sucked in I was told. A freind told me he saw that once where he used to work. Garage takes off I/C puts a rage in to prevent stuff from going in and then forgets it puts everything back on then boom ! Had a long talk with the seller he couldnt know if hes not lying and he was honest with everything else and always up front so i had no reason to doubt him when he told me he couldnt have know he drove the car 1 bloc at low speed and it didnt show when he did the compression test for me. So we splitted the cost half.
While i waited for the turbo to arrive i decided to dismantle the zed for rust inspection sound deadner removal and prep for L28 removal.
Upon the day of the removal
Big empty hole its so empty .....
I shall fill it with goofness
Ya im fast as hell i must put down a good 10 hp !

After a winter of thinking and prep to build our new house the time came to build and I could do anything to it but sit in it and read the news paper with a cup of coffee but i wanted ...
So after this
and this oh god !
I came to the time where i could have the time to work on the Z again. So i made the decision to ditch the L28 and go RB26 so i hitted the interwebs to find a good engine I didnt want to have a afghan RB form a importer in Montreal so i tried to find one from a running zed. I found a guy in BC who wanted the body and all the suspension and brakes and all but had his own engine. It was match made in heaven so after a month I got the motor home !
made in heaven i SAID !
-
Then I did the unthinkable and try to race a Viper I was young and dumb but I was keeping up on the curvy roads and then POOF white cloud and then nothing !
I was not proud of street racing and i was punished for it I blew the head gasket! Found the time to take off the head and see the wound I made to my baby ! To this day I never drove it again and im still mad at myself for it.
-
Then when i got back in quebec i had to have it inspected to have it plated and the parking brake didnt work. So instead of fixing it i changed to rear disc. Ordered a kit of MMS and sourced a set of 240sx rear calipers from a freind.
Derusted and repainted the Hbrake arm.
There she stands in front the old house.

I got this lovely Zed form a nice man in Toronto I hunted on for month in Quebec but could only find finished project and over priced garage queens. So i hited the classified on the ontario Z club and found this beauty brought it back home with my wife. Loved the feeling the smell the sound everything it was my first ride in a Z. I had the most interesting looks and commments everywhere i went. So here it is.
