Im about to install my new oil cooler on rb26 to replace the crappy stock unit and im wondering how did you guys proceed to block the water passage for the oe unit and what did you do with the stock selenoid .
Thank you

Dont give up, if you have experience with fiberglass it should be only a matter of time before you get a great look. Just wondering why you didnt go with a full dash cap they dont look that bad IMO.
-
Ya i did when I removed the RB pan to install the amazing one you made me. I checked all the pistons from the bottom and i couldnt find anything else.
-
Did you put the BBs on yourself? Or are these the turbos that came with the motor? Maybe the PO blew his turbo and just slapped another turbo on without doing any further work.
The BB turbos were on when i got the engin and like the picture above had one destroyed that was a BB to. My guess is the first set of turbos this RB26 had the oem ones probably blew. My oil Pump is all clean BTW i checked yesterday.

Thanks alot Pat1 very appreciated.

RB26powered74zcar how would one do an oil galley flush ? Im wondering why their is sleave bearing parts in my pan since i have BB turbos on it. I thinking maybe the rebuild it supposedly had in japan was from that blown turbo but not cleaning the mess in the pan and im asking myself can i trust them to have done the rest of the job well.
I think ill pull the oil pump this afternoon to check for wear and metal parts.

The N1 turbo i had on it had all their bearings and they have more holes in them. And ZT-R yes the engine was supose to be working i have a video of it . If the PO said the truth that is.
-
Beer tap was for size chart lol .Both my turbos have been checked one was all good the other one I had to replace it. Im more scared of the fact that I cant find the other half of the ring.
pictures of the dead turbo looked like it sucked a rag left in a IC pipe

Yes it had a blown turbo I changed it since but the PO didnt know it was busted because (and this is what he told me could lies to)he bought the car from Japanese auction had it delivered decided he want to keep the body and part the rest and this where i come in he mentioned he just drove it from the ports custom in BC canada to his home and once around the block to film it driving around because i asked him to film rolling around. I had the compression test on film to it was in the 160 and over all across the block.

Oh and BTW the engine was said to have had a rebuild when it was in japan before the previoous owner bought the car

Hi everyone I was in the process of installing my new Pat1 made oil pan and when i removed the stock RB26 pan I cought these little bastards near the in and around the oil pick up the biggest chunk was on the edge of the block. They must've fallen form inside the pan because after checking the bottom of the pan carefully I found some more tiny pieces of metal. The engine had an almost perfect compression across the block before removal form the skyline it came from. Im getting paranoid now I dont know what to do, should I open it and check the cylinder walls or something else. I didnt pay attention when i drain the pan the first time to check if their was metal bits in it. I cought a piece of black silicone sealant in the big banjo bolt on the block the one that feed water to the 2 turbos.
Pictures of the metal parts. What are they from ?
Thank you for the advice

Hi, I could have a good deal on a Trust greddy I/C but its 16" tall by 24(core lenght) by 4" thick will it fit in the front without scratching the road or hitting the hood. I cant slap the tape on the car because its stored.
Thank you very much

Im probalby gonna run 15X8 -13 in front and 15X10 -38 in the back just dont know yet .If the S12w front caliper dont fit might have to go with willwoods in front ...

Quiafe is just a limited slip unit to replace the open carrier in your differential housing. It doesn't include the gear, you bolt it on yourself.
Thanks I thought id get flamed for asking but im happy i didnt.

I checked the video out again and their is a white one to at some point.

What gearing does the quaife has 3:90 ?
-
Thanks alot im fearing less the day that ill have to do this now. And the shifter seems to line up to the original hole does it ?

As long as the diode has the same amp and volt spec it should be ok.

I chose the RB26 not because of money perspective but because of the sound of the RB and the legend behind this engine. I have nothing against my old L28 but i wanted an RB for so long so times whe ni pay the bills of this build i tell myself that an L28 with that much invested would have been a crazy engine but im sticking to my guns and I love the RB its like the son of the L28 in a way. Its can make a good 450hp (my goal) easily and i wont really worry as much as when i had the L28 even if it was in perfect order but one day i blew a head gasket and i never found the reason why.
My 2 cents

I dont know much about LS1 prices but I heard from the local muscle car guys that a 6.3 l from a pickup or suburban can be had for cheap then you just get a LS1 intake manifold and voila LS1 on the cheap.
food for thoughts
