Every time you torque down the studs you are 'stretching' the stud and thus after the first time you are going to be getting a inaccurate torque and overall weakening the stud. So to reuse them is a risk and a matter of time before one of them snaps. Overall I would not risk it. Especially considering how cheap they are to replace.

I wouldn't. You just spent all that money on fixing/building the engine and you are risking it all on the main studs. There is a guy selling a set of brand new main studs on Zilvia for 110shipped I believe. Let me find the ad for you.

All of the East coast S30's are going to be plagued with rust issues. You can pick up a rust Z for cheap. But fixing it is another issue. Like I said before, if you can repair it yourself then that will make the purchase better. If you don't feel comfortable fixing/repairing rust then expect to drop some money on paying someone to make the repairs. I see Datsun's go anywhere from 800-2000 in decent condition and minimal rust, so there is hope.

I actually really like it. I just hope you don't get any major scratches as you would most likely have to repaint the whole car as to match the colors. Great job on the first time garage paint job. I am planning on painting mine in my garage in the next month or so. Once I figure out what color to go with.

I went to grab my camera to upload all of the pictures and wouldn't you know it my camera is dead... Well, I will try and take some pictures with my Samsung GS2 so they will not be the best pictures.

Unfortunately if you are not handy with welding (as mentioned) almost all datusn's are going to be tough for you. There really isn't such a thing as a rust free datsun anymore. And the ones that are truly rust free are very pricey. As said before it is the best idea to go and check out any datsun and really do a good job of checking every square inch trying to find rust. There are some very common rust areas for these cars. So check the site for all of the common rust areas and start by looking in those areas then just look throughout the rest of the car. If you don't think you can adequately repair rust then expect to shell out some money for rest removal/repair. Unfortunately paint on a Datusn will have to be removed to fix rust so don't focus on paint being a huge factor for picking a particular datusn over another one. What you really need to look for is as rust free as possible. Hope this helps.

I have been looking for one for awhile. I have had a wtb thread looking for one for awhile and only one person responded then never heard anything back when I requested pictures. On top of that everyone has been out of state and shipping would be a ton.
