  1. Well. Thier function is to stop water from rolling off the roof line and directly over the side windows. It directs the water to the back and allows it to drain off. If you shave them, you will most likely have a problem of rain getting past your window seals and soaking you and your seat. That is unless you have really new seals and everything is lined up REALLY well. Even if you can stop the rain from entering the car, you still have to worry about the down poor of water as you exit the car while its raining. If you decide to shave them for sure,IM me and I'll give you some tips that could save you some time.
  2. I'm in Ocala (central florida) Just south of Gainesville and about an hour north of Orlando.
  3. Sorry about not getting back quicker. I was in Indiana helping my parents re-roof thier house. I'll call Pete tonight and ask him about pay pal and the shipping. Thanks for the interest.
  4. I'm drooling over some of those parts!! I just wish I could read the damn discriptions and prices!!
  5. I have one in my zx but not in the house. I guess I know where my loyalty is!!
  6. I agree there. He didnt do the whole dash so the two differtent materials will expand and contract at different temps. and thats where all hell breaks lose. If you were to cover the entire dash you wouldn't have that problem. Worse thing that would happen is the dash could pop lose from the fiberglass but you wouldn't be able to see it so it wouldnt matter.
  7. Um, I wouldnt do that if I were you unless you dont care aboutthe rest of your interior...lol I've worked fiberglass for some time now and one thing I can tell you is it is a MESS! Trying to cover such a large area in a small space will be a pain in the ars. Not to mention the fumes. Then trying to sand and finish without tearing up or possibly even busting your window will be another challenge all together! Trust me, it’ll be worth pulling the dash out before glassing it. Also for you guys doing this: Try using canned foam insulation to fill the gaps and then sand it down flush before you glass. I paint over the foam with some cheap latex house paint before I glass over it b/c some brands of foam react funny and others don’t. Just my .02
  8. I'm thinking you'll be very happy with the power you can make.
  9. I've had three zx's with rust around the fuel cap! It almost looks like the fuel that overflowed over the yrs. made it rust. Also, they always rust just above the windshield trim.
  10. Here's what I did with mine. I dont know if they are autopal or not but I did get them off e-bay last yr. Actually a buddy of mine bought them for his porsche 928. They were sold to fit a mustang. I had a set I purchased for my car (83 zx) but they didnt have the "angel eye" and they didnt fit worth a damn. Also, like some one already said in this thread, they cracked on me!! So, I took this set and took out the little blue bulbs (each light has two of 'em) that came with the lights and installed two blue leds in each little rubber that the original bulbs were in. So thats 4 leds in each light. But that wasn't enough for me. I then drilled two holes in each light on the outer shell and then drilled a smaller one into the inner case and put two more led's. If you look real close on the pic with the lights on, you can see them to the left and right of center. The led's are hooked up to the running lights so I can turn them on alone or with the headlights. These are very bright blue but hard to get a picture of. In person you can see them from almost two blocks away with just the runners on. Almost forgot! I'm installing two more on top and bottom of each light for a grand total of 10led's in each light! Will post more pics when done.
  11. Any one else notice that the lines f the front fenders have been changed? It looks like a 300zx fender.Look how the fender doesnt have the lip like an s130. I saw another post here where a guy put 300 fenders on his 130. Looks sharp! alexideways, I think your right! That looks exactly like the bumper on the impreza. Good eye.
  12. :iagree:He's right I'm afraid. Also, look into bonding the pc. to the car using SMC glue. It's kinda expensive but not really for what it does. A little goes a long way. You can get it in cans or in tubes like caulk. SMC is what they glue all the panels on cars like the corvette with. It will stop the tendency for the fiberglass work you do to crack and separate later down the road. It’ gonna look GREAT!
  13. Any body ever see this kit for sale anywhere?
  14. There should be three relays in that box(under hood pass. side) that are all the same if my memory serves me right. Try switching one of the relays to another place and see if they work.
  15. Ive seen WAY WORSE! That battery tray looks pretty good and the frame rail doesnt look like it's all the way through. For the price your talking, you'll kick yourself if you dont get it. I vote go for it. Do I get a vote?
  16. Good to see your interest but remember we are looking for a group of guys willing to give a small deposit before we start them. I can assure you the panels will be of top quality and a direct replacement of your factory original. If you follow the link from a couple of posts up,you can get a good idea of what they will look like. The ones pictured are for older style doors but the quality is there as well as close ups of the speaker provision and handle hole ect.
  17. All good questions. I epoxy fastened my orininal clips onto the back of my new panel but I'll have to get with Pete to see what he has in mind. As far as speakers go, we'll make the depth deep enough to fit most common 6.5 in speaker depths. I'll check online and gather info on the depths that would be best before the panels are made but rest assured no metal cutting unless you have some monster system planned with an extremly deep magnet:mrgreen:
  18. An 81 with 46k original?!?!?! I think I feel a tear or two myself! Beatutiful!
  19. More like crazy! LOL Should've seen me running all those wires back thru the door and up the pillar! I had no idea what I was getting into. But,in hind site it was worth it.
  20. Dont know right off hand but I'll go check my car and get back to you on it. Unless someone beats me to it.
  21. Power windows will be no problem since all there is, is a simple hole where the window switches pop into. You simply pull your window switches out and stick them in the new panel. Refer to my last post for link as to what the end product will resemble.
  22. These parts are not made yet. We are ready willing and quite capable of making them but would like to make sure its worth all the trouble first. Making these pcs. is to say the least, time consuming. They wouldnt be painted when shipped. It would be up to you if you wanted to have them covered with material or painted. To get an idea of what they would look like just go to http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105320&page=7 These were of course made for the older z cars but it gives you an idea as to what the end prodct will look like. Just imagine your same door skin with speaker hole.
  23. I used one from a chevy suv.Works great! Pics are in this thread.
